Rude awakenings

A guest asked for a oneshot Snow helping Emma with morning sickness.

Emma had forgotten how bad this sucked. Waking up at weird hours in the morning and barely having enough time to dash to the toilet before she started puking her guts up. A thin layer or sweat coated her forehead as she groaned, slumping her head against the cool sink which gave her some relief. But not for long, another wave of sickness hit her like a ton of bricks.

Emma was so busy throwing up that she didn't notice her mother slip into the room. The first she noticed her was when Snow gathered her hair in one hand and gently rubbed her back with the other. Snow remembered well the morning sickness she's suffered with both Emma and Neal. She was awake anyway after feeding Neal when she heard Emma running to the bathroom and begin to throw up. She didn't want to leave her alone in that state so thought she might be able to offer some comfort.

"It's ok." Snow whispered gently. "Let it out."

"I'm sorry." Emma croaked after finishing what she hoped to be the final round for this morning. "Did I wake you?"

"No." Snow assured her. "I was awake anyway. Don't worry about me though. Are you alright?" Emma nodded. She gathered her thoughts together for a minute before reaching out for the scrubbing brush. Her mom reached it before she could. "Not a chance. You need to go back your bed. I'll clean this up. I'll bring you some breakfast in a few hours."

"You don't have to do that." Emma murmured, but inside she was incredibly relieved. She didn't have the energy to clean the toilet after herself.

"Of course I do. You're my daughter and it's my job to look after you. Not to mention that that's my grandchild inside of you. Now go on, off to bed." Snow said, helping Emma to her feet. Emma smiled gratefully. Snow didn't like how pale she looked, even for just having thrown up. She made a mental note to make sure her breakfast was extra big.

"Thanks mom." Emma said, shakily walking back out.

"Any time." Snow called after her.
