Keeping her strong
A few people have asked for a oneshot of a follow up to "Hurting". Trigger warning of self-harm.
Snow and Charming soon managed to persuade Emma to cut her nails. They did it under the pretence that it would stop any accidental cuts to Neal, but in reality that was only part of it. Of course the other part was stopping Emma hurting herself. They had hidden away as many sharp objects as they could as subtly as possible. They were sure Emma knew what was going on, but she didn't say anything. Her remaining walls had come crashing down and she was working on dealing with the vulnerability she now felt. Snow and Charming did their best to help her. Charming kept a closer eye on her at work. He would praise her more when something went well and console her more when things didn't. He knew her self-esteem was low just now. It was his job to build it back up again. Make her see the wonderful, amazing woman he saw in her. He wanted Emma to know she could always rely on him to be there, for the good things or the bad.
Then at home, Snow would be there to remind her it was ok to feel down sometimes. It was ok to tell them that and seek comfort from them. She would have hot chocolate and cinnamon ready for when she got home. Have her favourite meals prepared for dinner. Just subtle little hints that they were there from both of them. More common hugs, little hand or shoulder squeezes. Snow would complement her more to remind Emma how beautiful she was. There was no denying that their daughter was fragile right now. But they wouldn't leave her that way. They would take the place of her walls. They would protect her from the world.
