Honey I went back in time
Papaouat asked for a oneshot of Emma and Killian going through the portal into the past. But the time they land is a slightly different time… In order for this to work again I've used creative license to change a few things.
"Your majesties." Blue greeted the royal couple with a small bow which they returned. "Geppetto has finished carving the wardrobe." Blue smiled over to the carpenter who smiled nervously, a hand on his son's shoulder who was playing absentmindedly on the floor with his wooden whale. "All that is left to do now is add the magic, the fairies are getting as much fairy dust together as they can." Blue assured them. The news still made both Snow and Charming's stomachs flip. This made them aware the day they would separate was coming closer. Charming found Snow's hand and squeezed it. Their daughter would reunite them one day.
Meanwhile…
Emma and Hook landed with a slight crash and a soft oomph. Emma's hair whipped around her as the portal closed- leaving them stranded.
"Bloody Hell Swan." Hook groaned, cracking his neck as he got up and looked around. "Where are we?"
"I know exactly where we are." Emma said, getting to her own shaky feet. She recognised it both from the pictures in Henry's book and her first trip here. "This is my parents' castle. They must have restored it during the missing year. The corridor they had landed in was immaculate. It didn't look like the rubble Emma had seen last time. It seemed like the destruction Regina's curse had caused hadn't hit this section of the castle at all. Emma turned slowly on the spot, taking a good look at the place that should have been her childhood home. It was a lot easier doing it now without the threat of ogres or Cora. That's when she saw the wardrobe. "No way." Emma gasped. She walked over to it tentatively. She reached out and ran the tips of her fingers over the top.
"What is it Swan?" Hook asked, coming over and joining her.
Charming suddenly hushed the meeting.
"There's someone out there." He whispered. He drew his sword and crept over to the slightly ajar door. Snow pulled herself out of her own chair and came over beside him, a protective hand over her bump. Together they listened to the intruders. Had Regina sent spies to find out what their plan was to save their baby?
"This is the wardrobe my parents sent me through in." Snow and Charmings' hearts nearly stopped. Was this their daughter? They quickly moved so they could just see out of the small crack in the door. The others were now listening is as best they could do. Geppetto had a firm grip on Pinocchio's shoulder, his face paling. How could this be? Would she know of his secret deal? Blue seemed particularly interested. She was muttering something about how this shouldn't be happening.
"You shouldn't be listening to this." She whispered frantically, buzzing over the couple. "It could have disastrous consequences." The pair shook their heads, waving her off. It they were going to put their daughter through to another world alone they wanted to know she was going to be ok. Charming found Snow's hand again and squeezed it. This was their baby…Snow frowned. Did she say parents? Wasn't Snow meant to go with her? Charming was thinking the same thing. They both listening carefully as the pair spoke.
"But this is impossible. I destroyed this when I came back so Cora couldn't use it. Why would they rebuild it? And why wouldn't they tell me when they got their memories back?"
"Maybe they found out how to restore it and thought if they could get enough magic back into it they could come back? Then when they got their memories back didn't see any need to mention it as it, clearly, didn't work?"
"Yeah." Emma agreed. "Maybe."
"I can't take it anymore!" Snow whispered.
"Agreed. Come on."
"Wait! Did you not listen to me? Don't!" Blue tried to warn them, but they didn't listen. Snow and Charming opened the door fully and walked out. Emma and Hook jumped, having not known there was anyone there. Emma wasn't sure she was seeing right. How were her parents here? Why did they seem so awe struck to see her? Her eyes widened when she saw her mom's heavily pregnant belly. She pointed at it.
"But you just…" Then Emma realised Zelena's portal was a time portal, they'd gone back in time. That wasn't her little brother inside her mom- that was her. Emma paled, they'd messed up, big time. "How much did you hear?" Emma asked, cutting to the chase.
"A lot." Snow answered her. Emma felt quite uncomfortable under her parents' gaze. Hook shuffled just uncomfortably in the background, hoping to be unnoticed. Snow and Charming were slowly approaching Emma. It was near identical to the first time they'd been reunited. Snow cupped Emma's face in her hands, drinking in every detail. Charming stood proudly by Snow's side.
"Your eyes, Snow…" He said, looking lovingly at Emma.
"And your blondness." Snow responded. "There's no denying it. She really is our daughter. This is no trick of Regina's." Emma stayed silent, unsure now what she could and couldn't say. "So you made it to the other world? You escaped the curse?" Snow asked, voice filled with hope.
"I…I…I'm unsure what I can tell you." Emma stammered. She saw Blue and Geppetto visibly relax. Emma knew he was just protecting his son. Emma would protect his secret. Snow and Charming nodded in understanding.
"Tell us one thing, please." Charming asked. "You…your mother…me…are we happy?" The look on his face- Emma couldn't deny him an answer.
"Yes." She answered. "Very." Snow and Charming smiled happily.
"We must look strange old." Snow joked. Emma just smiled. She couldn't tell them she'd never seen them old. Charming motioned with his head to Hook. He gulped- he had been noticed.
"I take it you're the suitor?" Charming asked. Hook gave a half nod.
"Sort of mate." He answered.
"Have I approved of you?"
"Aye." Hook answered, spying an opportunity. "You both very much approve of me. You said you trust nobody else with your daughter's hand." Emma rolled her eyes as Charming raised an eyebrow.
"I'm good at spotting liars. It's a gift. Charming warned him.
"So it's inherited…" Emma muttered under her breath." This brought Snow and Charming's attention back to her.
"I guess you have to work out how to get back to your own time?" Snow asked, Emma nodded. She then pulled Emma into a giant hug. "Be safe." She whispered to her.
"Um sure…" Emma mumbled awkwardly. Her mom's swollen belly was pressed against her. She was pressed against her. Snow pulled back and allowed Charming to pull Emma into his own hug.
"We can't believe how beautiful you are." Charming told her, causing Emma to blush. When he pulled away from the hug Charming looked to Hook. "Look after her." He told the pirate. A dangerous undertone in his voice. Hook looked him right in the eye.
"With my life." Charming knew this time he wasn't lying, and he knew his daughter was in safe hands…even if he still wasn't sure about him as a suitor yet. Emma moved over to him, but gave one last look back to her parents.
"I'm sorry I can't tell you more or spend more time with you…but it wouldn't be wise." Emma said sadly.
"We understand." Snow told her, as Charming put an arm around her shoulders. "We hope to see you soon in your own time." Emma nodded, taking Hook's wrist and leading him out. Snow looked up at her husband, the pair sharing knowing smiles.
"She's going to be alright." Snow sighed. Charming nodded, kissing the top of Snow's head.
"Yes she is…the suitor I'm still not sure of. It'll depend on if he gets her back unharmed or not. I'm sure my future self will make an appropriate judgement then."
