Grandma's duties
Alex asked for a oneshot of Emma and Hook having children. Snow tries to give her advice but Emma said she doesn't need it.
"Oh here if you hold her like this then-"
"It's ok, I've got it." Emma said calmly, switching the way she held little Eira. "I have my fake memories with Henry, I've got this. Thanks mom."
"No problem." Snow grumbled slightly huffily. It was one of the few things Snow thought she could still do for her daughter, give her baby advice. But Regina had managed to steal that from her too. Snow would leap up Eira so much as made a discontented noise, but Emma knew exactly what she was doing. Snow was happy that she wasn't struggling, but it would have been nice to be able to help her like mothers do. Snow was struggling with not being able to give her daughter any motherly advice. Any time she tried Emma politely rejected her. It was rather frustrating. She just wanted to help. Emma seemed oblivious to her mom's huffiness. But in fairness, it was exhausting having a new born. Especially when you were determined to get it right this time around. Without the need for false memories.
Emma came to visit her mom (her dad was at the station and Neal was at school) when Eira was three moms old. Snow could clearly see the bags under her eyes and sensed her opportunity. She took her granddaughter off of Emma.
"Go upstairs to your old room and have a nap." Snow told her gently. "Eira can have some quality time with her grandma. Isn't that right my little angel?" Snow cooed. Emma gave an immensely relieved smile. Eira had had quite a bad night. Emma was exhausted.
"Thanks mom." Emma said, kissing her daughter's head and trudging her way up the stairs. "Any time." Snow responded, looking down at her gorgeous granddaughter. Maybe she couldn't give Emma any advice- but that didn't mean she couldn't help Emma out as a grandmother.
