Papa's time
A guest asked for a oneshot of Charming teaching Emma's four year old daughter horse riding.
I know a couple of people want some more Snow Queen and little Emma, but I'm afraid I won't be writing any more of those oneshots. I think it takes away from these being about the Charming family- sorry!

"Look Papa!" The little girl squealed excitedly. Charming looked up from where he was holding the reins of the horse to see his granddaughter Eira proudly on the horse with her arms in the air. Charming chuckled, she was a brave little girl.
"That's good baby but hold on for Papa. I don't want you to fall off, ok?" Eira was of course kitted out in a helmet and knee and elbow pads. As well as her horse- whom she'd named Fairy- was still young so wasn't fully grown. Even still, Charming knew if Eira so much as came home with a bruise Emma would throttle him. He'd tried to coax her into learning herself, but she said she was happy with her bug.
"No, I won't fall! You're here, you won't let me fall." Eira said. Charming smiled warmly at her. If he chose to, he could almost pretend that she was Emma as a little girl. Emma had shown them the few pictures she had from her childhood and Eira looked near identical to her mother. The only difference being her eyes were her father's.
"No, I won't. But even still, hold on for papa." Eira sighed, but put her hands back on the reigns. "That's my good girl." When Charming was sure Eira wasn't going to let go again, he continued trotting around the little pen with her. He loved getting to spend this time with his granddaughter, but it was bitter sweet. It reminded him of the time he had missed with Emma. When he found out Snow was having a little girl he imagined all the things they'd get to do together. Horse riding included. But there was no point in moping over it, he'd never get that time with Emma. But he did have the time with Eira, one of the advantages of being the same age as your child was extra time with your grandkids. And Charming intended to use every second of it.
