A pain in her side
A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma getting appendicitis but not saying anything as her parents are busy looking after Neal. Later on in the hospital they tell her off.
Emma tried her best to get comfortable on the chair. Her stomach was killing her. She hadn't eaten all day, she didn't think she could stomach it. And was it just her or was it boiling? She didn't want to say anything to her parents, they'd had a tough night with Neal. He had begun teething and was making sure everyone knew about it. Snow was currently pacing up and down bouncing him slightly whilst Charming was out getting more baby bonjela. Snow sighed as Neal started to drool down her shoulder.
"Emma, could you get me a cloth from the kitchen please?" She called over. Emma grimaced, not so sure that she could. But she couldn't say no, her mom needed the help. Slowly, Emma got to her shaking feet. That only made the pain in her stomach worse. She tried not to groan as she walked, hunched, over to the kitchen. "Any time today Emma!" Snow called impatiently, her back to her daughter. Emma gritted her teeth as she tried to walk quickly. She sighed in relief when the cloth was within reach. She reached out for it- and the pain intensified unbearably, like something had exploded inside her. Emma cried out in pain, collapsing to the floor. The last thing she remembered was hearing her mom yell her name, and then it all went black.
"She's waking up." A voice whispered. Emma was aware of all sorts of beeping noises going on round about her. She groaned, she was clearly in hospital. She wasn't sure if her side felt better or worse, it was a different kind of pain. Like someone had sliced her open. Slowly, her eyes fluttered open. The first thing she saw was her parents looking down at her, relieved smiles on both their faces.
"Hey there." Charming whispered, reaching down and touching her cheek. "Nice to see you awake again."
"What happened?" Emma groaned, trying to sit up. Immediately both her mother's and father's hands were on her gently shoving her back down.
"Not so fast there." Charming told her. You've had an operation to remove your appendix. You had a nasty case of appendicitis." Charming told her. Well that explained why she felt like she'd been sliced open.
"Whale tells us you must have been in agony." Snow said, raising an eyebrow. "Care to explain why you didn't mention anything so we could have got you here before you collapsed?"
"Neal had kept you up all night and wasn't showing any signs of calming down. I thought it was just a bellyache, I didn't want to add to your worries…"
"Emma, we can handle having two children otherwise we wouldn't have had Neal." Charming sighed, rubbing his temple.
"I'm not a child." Emma grumbled.
"You could have fooled us with this stunt." Snow responded. "We're not mad at you Emma. We know you were just trying to make things easier on us. But next time one of your organs is about to rupture, if you could give us a bit of a head's up it would be appreciated." Emma smiled sleepily.
"Deal." Charming bent down and kissed her forehead.
"You need rest, go back to sleep." Emma wanted to argue that she could choose when she slept, but she knew he was right. She closed her eyes and let sleep take her once more.
