Can't be replaced

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma's first Christmas with her parents and baby Neal. Emma is feeling a bit left out.

It was such a tug of war of emotions going on in her chest. This was her first proper family Christmas (well, aside from her son being with his other mom). She'd never had proper presents under the tree to open on Christmas morning. And she never dreamed she'd get to open presents labelled "love, mom and dad". She couldn't deny they'd gone all out on her. Being the King and Queen certainly had its financial advantages. They even made a fuss of the presents she'd gotten them.

But it wasn't all perfect. Emma loved her brother dearly. But when she pictured her first Christmas with her family she sort of imagined getting a little more attention herself and a little less wailing from a teething baby. Emma loved Neal, but it was still hard sometimes for her to adjust. All she wanted to do was curl up with a mug of hot cocoa and watch a cheesy Christmas movie with her parents- but they couldn't because it might wake Neal. She knew she was being selfish. It was Neal's first ever Christmas, it was only fair he was the centre of attention…but then again he didn't even know what was going on. Emma did. Yeah, she'd gotten lots of presents and they were lovely. But there was one thing none of those presents could give her that was taken from her- time.

I promise a cheerier Christmas oneshot on the day!
