Kirito couldn't help but smile at the familiar sensation of the air changing around him, it was a strange feeling one that he had gotten used to, but could never truly accept.
There was something unnatural about the way that Aincrad connected to the spacecraft that they found.
he wanted to explain what it was that he found so unsettling but no matter how hard he tried to put it into words he failed to do so.
He knew that the feeling of the air inside the ship growing wasn't what unsettled him, in fact, he welcomed the feeling, because he wasn't used to breathing so little air like the people that he rescued.
Living in Aincrad for so long had helped him get used to walking through hallways that didn't have any light, and while he was forced to walk carefully when he traveled through those hallways he was at the very least familiar with the feeling.
The artificial lights of the alien ship came to life all at once and for the first time since he set foot in the massive spaceship, Kirito could see just how massive the thing truly was.
He couldn't help but let out a breath because there were cities inside the giant spacecraft, along with forests and even what looked like entire oceans, there were even vast fields that he couldn't see the end of.
As the feeling passed he began to grow worried, not because he was standing in a piece of the ship, but because there was something out there that could break something this big into several different pieces.
A loud moan from his right made him turn to see what it was and to his surprise he found himself looking at a herd of what looked like giant dinosaurs running in the field.
He used his help screen to take a closer look at the creatures, as he did not want to have to kill any of them yet and he couldn't help but smile, because the creatures had the same look in their eyes as the people and animals that he had rescued before.
He looked up for a brief moment and watched as Aincrad came closer to the alien ship, because the ship was so big, Aincrad was forced to put itself above it because if it didn't it risked being attacked by whatever weapons the alien ship had.
His help screen automatically activated and he watched as the other pieces of the alien ship were placed in the areas that they fit.
While he silently watched as the repair teams bolted the pieces together he kept an eye on his surroundings just to be sure that nothing attacked him while he was distracted.
For a brief moment, the image of Radius along with the other floor bosses appeared on his help screen, meaning that the alien ship was now completely under their control and would continue to be in their control until it separated itself from Aincrad.
Kirito couldn't help but let out a breath filled with relief, his job was done, and that meant that he could go back home and pass whatever free time he had with Yui and Asuna before he had to join the other players and the Imperials in exploring the alien ship.
The rules said that they should leave the ship alone for an entire day so that whatever dangers were in it had time to think that they had complete control of the ship so it was easier for them to find it.
Depending on what they found they would either kill the creature or creatures, but if what they found was too dangerous for them to deal with, then they would separate the ship from Aincrad and get rid of the threat and the ship all at once.
He managed to take a single step back to Aincrad before he stepped on something round out of curiosity he lowered himself and picked up what looked like some kind of round crystal.
He would have taken it with him, but Aincrad's defenses wouldn't allow him to do so, as the castle's defense systems prioritize the players' safety over everything else.
He didn't say anything when he dropped the stone back in the same place where he had found it, but he couldn't help but feel the uneasy feeling that he had felt ever since he had stepped into the ship grow stronger after he picked up the stone.
He began to feel the hairs on the back of his head begin to stand and he activated his help screen so that it could search for anything that was a threat to him, but no matter where he and his help screen looked they failed to find anything.
Kirito silently sent out a warning to everyone else before he began to walk again, he hadn't survived the death game and lived to this point by ignoring his instincts.
It hadn't been the first time that he had run into something that could hide from his help screen, either by cloaking itself or because it was a part of the environment.
He carefully walked back towards the part of the ship that he had used to enter it, and while he welcomed the light that now made it easier for him to see where he went, he couldn't help but regret that he didn't have the darkness to hid himself in anymore.
He finally stood in front of the forcefield that separated the ship from the vacuum of space, but he didn't walk through it just yet.
He waited about a minute and then he walked through the forcefield, he could feel it burning the alien bacteria that he had been exposed to, and he smiled when he heard a soft thump behind him.
He turned and coldly looked at the empty hallway, he was right there was something that he couldn't see inside the ship.
he sent the recording to everyone and began to walk back into Aincrad.
The massive doors that led into the castle just barely opened for him, as he was the last person to return to the castle and there was no point in the doors being completely opened for him.
He walked past the Servitors and the Golems that stood guard in front of the entrance and he couldn't help but take a deep breath when he felt the warm air that existed inside of Aincrad.
His help screen acted again and it showed him along with everyone else the gargantuan chains that Aincrad used to secure the alien ship and keep it from floating away.
