Poisoned

Fefisgb13 asked for a oneshot of Emma being hit with a poisoned arrow in Neverland.

Guys! Guys! It's SNOWING here! My little fandom heart is happy.

Emma was so busy in a fight with one of the lost boys that she hadn't noticed Felix aiming his bow at her. The arrow didn't lodge in her, but it did scrape her side. Emma hissed in pain. She looked around and saw Felix grinning at her.

"We win." He said darkly. Emma could hardly hear him over the sounds of the battle, but she knew what he meant. Those arrows were laced with dreamshade. It didn't matter that the arrow hadn't stayed inside her, scraping her was enough. She was going to die.

Three days later

Emma had been doing her best to hide her wound from the group. She didn't want the focus to be drawn from Henry at all. But it was getting harder and harder to keep it from them. She was in agony whenever she was standing. But still Emma kept up the façade. Until she got caught. Emma had been sitting down by the fire, just thinking. Was she going to get a chance to say goodbye to Henry?

"Emma, come on. It's our turn to get the fresh water. The others will need it for when they get back from searching." Snow said, snapping Emma out of it. Emma inwardly grimaced.

"Sure." She said, putting on a smile. This immediately made Snow suspicious. That was not Emma's normal smile. "You go on ahead. I'll be there in a second." Emma was going to need the extra few moments to control the pain when she got up. Snow nodded, moving into the trees. She stayed, watching Emma, wanting to know what was going on. Slowly, Emma got up, wincing. She pulled up her top and looked at the wound, it was getting worse. The veins around it were a deep shade of blue, standing out.

"Emma!" Snow gasped coming back over to her. Emma quickly pulled her top back down, but Snow had already seen it. She took the stop back up, staring at the injury. Nobody had to say anything, Snow knew it was from dreamshade. "When?" Snow asked simply.

"The fight with the lost boys a couple of days ago. Felix got me." Emma said honestly.

"I'll kill him." Snow snarled. "I'll kill him with my bare hands! But first we will find a cure." Snow said with determination.

"You know there is none." Emma reminded her. "We need to face facts. I'm dying-"

"No!" Snow said, grasping Emma's shoulders. "I will not let you die. We'll ask Hook when he comes back. He knows this island better than any of us…"

"No you won't." Emma said forcefully. "We're here to save Henry. Anything that takes us off that course would be selfish. I might die, but you'll all still be alive. Save my son and get him home. Don't worry about me." Emma said. Snow couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"Don't worry about you? Emma, you're my daughter! Of course I'm going to worry when you hide the fact you're dying from me!"

"The fact you're what?" Snow and Emma turned round. The group were back. Charming was standing at the front, looking horrified. Emma was now furious. This is exactly what she was trying to avoid!

"Emma's been hit with a poisoned arrow a couple of days ago." Snow said, wasting no more time. Charming nearly collapsed. No, no. His daughter could not be dying? Snow looked to Hook. "You know this island. There must be a cure somewhere. It doesn't matter where. Tell us and Charming and I will get it." Charming nodded. Like Hell was Emma going to die. Hook looked reluctant. Of course he knew there was a cure after Liam. But he also knew the price.

"Tell us!" Charming demanded. Hook knew he couldn't keep it from them. As much as the price was terrible it was better than Emma dying.

"There is a cure." He said quietly. "Just one. But it has a price."

"Whatever it is we will pay it." Charming told him.

"No you will not!" Emma butted in. "We are here for Henry. We are not wasting time finding a cure for me."

"Think about Henry." Charming said softly. "He needs both him moms. If there's a cure don't you think he deserves for you to take it and be part of his life?"

"Actually mate, that's part of the problem." Hook admitted. "The cure only works on the island. If she takes it, Emma stays here or dies anyway."

"Well then I'm as well dying then and not wasting time!" Emma said, tears of fury beginning to pour down her face. Why couldn't they accept her death?

"No." Snow said simply. "We will not accept that Rumple, he's still here. He'll know how to make it work back home." She looked back to Emma. "This is going to be ok." She assured her daughter. Charming took hold of Snow's hand and squeezed it. He knew Snow was just as terrified as he was. But they had hope that this could be solved. And if worst came to worst, Emma would live but be left on the island. But she wouldn't be alone, they would both stay with her. They would not lose their daughter.
