Emma's song
Franciny asked for a oneshot of the boys going camping for the weekend so Emma and Snow have a girl's night in. Emma asks her what life was like in the Enchanted Forest and Snow tells her that she used to sing to Emma whilst pregnant with her.
To the guest that requested Emma getting kidnapped by the Snow Queen before the events of "Darkness" check out "Crazy". Also, you only need to post your request once. Not on every single chapter I post that day haha.
"Do you hear that?" Snow asked as Emma plonked herself on the couch beside her.
"I can't hear anything?" Emma replied. Snow turned her head to face Emma, smiling.
"Exactly." Emma grinned in return, taking a handful of popcorn. With the boys in the forest for the weekend it was just Emma and Snow in the house to pamper themselves. They were kicking things off with a movie. Emma insisted on watching "Snow White and the huntsman".
"Honestly," Snow said, rolling her eyes. "I can't believe they have her playing me!" She said huffily. Emma couldn't help but laugh.
"This is what you get for letting me pick the movie!" She teased. But Snow still saw her eyes watering up when the Huntsman first came on, knowing she was remembering Graham. Snow reached over and squeezed Emma's hand to let her know she was there. Emma quickly used her other hand to wipe away the couple of stray tears.
"So, what was life like as the real Snow White in the real Enchanted Forest?" Emma asked, trying to change the subject. Snow smiled, she loved being able to share memories with Emma.
"Well that all depends what time period we're talking. There was times when I led a very privileged life, but there were also times when life was very tricky." Snow explained. Emma shifted nervously.
"Well…what about when you were…pregnant with me?" She asked, not looking at her mom. Snow felt her heart sore. Emma was asking for information only Snow or Charming could give her. This was quite a big step for Emma.
"That was a magical time." Snow said softly, reaching out and tucking a strand of Emma's hair behind her ear. Your father…he was so protective. I was hardly allowed to do anything for myself! Sure, we knew Regina's threat was hovering. But we didn't know you'd be alone up until the last moment. So the pregnancy was still amazing. You were inside me, the safest place in the world. You were such an active little one towards the end. The only thing that calmed you down was singing." Emma looked up briefly.
"Singing?" She asked. Snow nodded.
"Always the same song. It was the only one that worked." Snow started to hum the still familiar tune, almost automatically going to rub her belly. Emma could feel herself relaxing. There was something strangely familiar about the song to her too. Almost like she'd heard it in a dream. But she hadn't- this was her song. Her mother said so. Throwing caution to the wind- Emma slowly leaned over and rested her head against Snow's shoulder. Snow's heart nearly stopped. Emma was seeking comfort from her. Emma trusted her. Slowly, Snow wrapped an arm around Emma, pulling her a little closer. It was just the same when Neal snuggled into her, it just felt right. This was the closest her children could be to her now that they weren't inside her. And she would always cherish the warmth it gave her.
