The world is yours & everything in it

Sofi asked for a oneshot about Emma raising Henry.

It was so strange seeing him drive off, ready for his next big adventure- college. Emma didn't want to go back into the house, it meant accepting that he no longer lived there. That she was alone. As he left her sight all the memories they shared floated through Emma's mind. When he was one and he took his first teetering steps. When he was two and he had that proud little face after using his big boy potty. His first day at school when he left her with a happy smile and wave. When she ran behind him as he rode his bike without stabilisers for the first time. She could still hear him shouting "look mom! I'm doing it! I'm doing it"…before he crashed into a hedge. His first girlfriend. Emma smiled at that one. He was practically shaking as he left the house to meet up with her. Henry didn't get nervous very often, he was so filled with confidence. Even now as he left home for college. Sure, Emma could see the tears shining in his eyes (though of course she pretended not to notice, and he returned the favour for her). But she knew he would be just fine. Her little boy was all grown up now, and the world was his to own.
