Clingy baby
A guest asked for a oneshot of little Emma being clingy and not wanting Snow to put her down. Snow has to juggle carrying her toddler and doing chores. Charming tries to help and after a long struggle Emma agrees to be carried by her father.
"Emma, come on, it'd be a lot more phone in your playpen. All your toys are there. You'll still see mama…"
"No!" Emma shouted, burying her head into Snow's shoulder. Snow sighed, Emma was having a needy day.
"Alright sweetheart." She cooed, trying her best to clean the highchair with one hand. At eighteen months Emma was no lightweight anymore so it was no easy task. But still Snow ploughed on. There would be no putting Emma down when she was in a mood like this.
"Your majesty." A guard said, coming to the door. "The duke has arrived for the meeting. Shall I send for Prince David to take over childcare?" Emma grimaced. She couldn't take Emma into the meeting. This was just going to have to be done. She nodded, knowing if she said yes Emma would start screaming there and then. The guard left to fetch Charming.
"Isn't that exciting Emma? Daddy's coming." Emma didn't really respond much. Today was just a mommy day. There were plenty of days where Emma attached herself to Charming and wasn't bothered at all by Snow.
"I'm here to tag in." Charming said, coming into the room. Snow gave him a grimace and Charming immediately understood.
"Where's my little princess? Isn't she going to give her daddy a hug?" Emma shook her head. "Aww, come on angel! You don't want to make daddy cry do you?" Emma didn't respond. Her little fist clenched tighter around Snow's dress. Snow gave him a hopeless look. She just wanted her mommy, should she postpone the meeting? But Snow knew she couldn't do that, if she did it wouldn't take place for months and it really needed to be done now. "Emma, if you come with daddy I can get you one of the secret lollipops mommy doesn't know about?" Charming stage whispered. Emma suddenly perked up and became interested in her daddy. Snow smiled at him. He knew how to charm both his girls. Charming reached over and took Emma from Snow, both grateful she went without a fuss. He quickly carried her out of the room, knowing the key to keep her from crying was keeping her away from Snow. "Ok baby," Charming said, bouncing her slightly "let's go get you a lollipop." Emma giggled merrily. Why had she been sad again?
