Hide and seek
A guest asked for a oneshot of Snowing going on a date and leaving a hesitant Emma to babysit Neal. He loves playing hide and seek and when Snow calls to check on them Emma is in a panic because she can't find him.
"Go on." Charming said, slightly amused. Snow looked up at him, confused. "You've been moving that pasta round your plate more than you've been eating it. You want to call Emma and Neal."
"How?-"
"Because you're my wife, Snow. I know you worry about them both. You won't be happy until you know they're both ok. Go on, give them a quick call." Snow beamed at her husband before grabbing her phone from her bag and calling the house.
Meanwhile
"Neal this isn't funny anymore!" Emma shouted, beginning to panic. "Come out now, you've won!" She waited, still silence. She had already checked the front door, it was still locked so he had to be in the house somewhere...didn't he? Neal had insisted on playing hide and seek with her, it was his new obsession. Suddenly, the phone rang. Emma pounced on, worried it would be someone saying they found Neal wondering through town.
"Hello?" Emma asked, still searching the apartment. Snow could clearly tell that she was agitated.
"Um Emma it's mom. How are you both?" Emma's face paled. She had forgotten her mom would probably call at some point. What if they never found Neal again? It would be all her fault!
"Yeah, great!" Emma responded, though her voice cracking wasn't a good indication that she was telling the truth. "We're having lots of fun playing hide and seek! It's my turn to search right now so I'd better get back to..."
"The cupboard in the bathroom where all the towels are kept." Now understanding why Emma sounded so off. "Happened to me too." Emma sprinted to the bathroom and opened the cupboard. Sure enough, her brother was nestled inside.
"Got him." Emma said sheepishly. "Anyway, we're both fine. Go and enjoy your date."
"We will. Have fun with Neal." Snow chuckled, hanging up and returned to the table.
"House still standing?" Charming joked. Snow smiled, nodding.
"Yeah, they were playing hide and seek. It was Emma's turn seeking." Charming couldn't help but laugh. He knew that look. Emma had clearly been losing. "I think they're going to play a different game now."
"Aww we're missing out on playing games?" Charming pretended to complain. He felt Snow's foot run up his leg.
"Don't worry Charming. I have some of our own we can play when we go home."
