Temper tantrum
A guest asked for a oneshot of an adult Emma getting the cold shoulder from her parents after having a tantrum.
"Oh come on guys I've said I'm sorry!" Emma said, exasperated. "It's not like I made a big mess of his workshop. Besides, he's got his stupid magic brooms. I'm sure he'll clean up any smashed things in no time…" Emma's parents stayed silent. They hadn't spoken to her since the incident. They were completely horrified and mortified with her behaviour. "I know I've said it but I'll say it again anyway, not that you're going to reply." Emma grumbled the last part under her breath in annoyance. "He's been hiding away for weeks now. He's not been a poor defenceless little mouse, he's been a coward. We need him to help us get the fairies out of the hat to defeat the three stooges of evil of whatever they're calling themselves and he's refusing to help!-"
"And you think smashing up his home is the best way to get him to cooperate?" Snow snapped coldly. She and Charming wanted the fairies back just as badly as Emma. Maleficent, Cruella and Ursula were becoming too big of a threat to both the town and their family but that didn't give Emma the right to terrorise people to get what they wanted. That wasn't the way and Emma knew that. Emma sighed.
"I made a mistake." She said quietly. "I've said I'm sorry…"
"We're not the ones you should be apologising to." Charming said sternly.
"Fine." Emma grumbled grabbing her car keys. "Let's all go back and you can even watch as I apologise." Snow and Charming nodded before following Emma out.
Emma felt her stomach doing backflips as she opened the door to the little wooden house. She grimaced as she saw the elderly man sweeping up the broken pieces by himself. He looked up when he heard the door open.
"Oh, it's you." The Apprentice said gruffly. "Come to destroy some more of my things with another childish temper tantrum?" Emma felt her cheeks flush pink before she shook her head.
"No, I came to apologise. What I did to your home was wrong, and being frustrated with you is no excuse. Here," With a wave of Emma's hand the place was neat and tidy again, all the broken things fixed and in their rightful place. "I hope that can help make up for it." Emma turned to leave with her parents.
"Wait." He said, making Emma pause. "I can't be of much help to you getting those fairies back, I should have been honest from the beginning, I was just being a stubborn old man. What I can tell you is this- you give that had too much magic it'll overload. When it does it spits everyone back out. Unfortunately I've got no magic to give you…"
"That's alright." Emma said. "I know where we can get some. Thank you, Mr Apprentice. Again, sorry for what happened." The man smiled at Emma.
"That's alright, my dear. We all lose our tempers sometimes. I appreciate you coming here and fixing the mess." With a final nod Emma and her parents left. Charming squeezed Emma's shoulder and Snow linked arms with her. Emma relaxed, all was well again. Her parents were talking to her.
