Another son
A guest asked for a oneshot of Snowing adopting a little boy.
"So this will be your room." Snow said excitedly showing Kaden the loft room which used to belong to Emma, but she and Henry had moved out some time ago. The seven year old nodded nervously, clutching the handle of his wheeled suitcase tightly. Charming squeezed the boy's shoulder fondly. He and Snow had been watching a documentary on TV about children in need of adoption in the state of Maine. They'd seen this little boy with his big sad eyes and tragic story to tell and had just fallen in love. He was a couple of years younger than Neal and they thought it would be nice for Neal to have a sibling closer to his own age to play with. They hadn't told Kaden their true identities yet. They figured that might be a bit much. Besides, he was a young, smart and imaginative boy. They had a sneak suspicion he'd figure things out for himself soon enough. Kaden was happy to have a forever home, and especially with two parents who were as awesome as he found Mary Margaret and David. But he was just so worried he'd muck it all up. What if they decided they didn't want him anymore? What if they realised that one son was enough work without having another that wasn't really their problem? He'd been getting to know the whole family for months. He knew that Emma hadn't grown up with them and Henry had been put up for adoption at birth. This family didn't seem to have a good track record with kids except for Neal. What if they did the same thing to him? He couldn't take it if they did, he loved them too much.
"Here, let me take this for you." Charming said, plucking the suitcase from Kaden's hand. He gently placed it on the bed with it's new space themed duvet cover. The whole room was outer space themed as they knew how much the topic fascinated Kaden. They knew this must be pretty overwhelming for him, they wanted to give him time to adjust to his new home.
"We'll go downstairs and get some lunch made up." Snow said, ruffling his chestnut hair. "Just come down when you're ready sweetheart." Kaden blushed at the simple term of endearment. He couldn't believe these were his new parents. He couldn't believe how awesome his new home was. I mean, it was called Storybrooke, how awesome a name was that? He couldn't put his finger on it, but there was definitely something special about this place. Something almost magical…
