A sensitive subject

Soprano Pixie asked for a oneshot of Charming having a stern talk with Emma about alocol. He saw his father drink himself to death and he doesn't want Emma going the same way.

CGMH: I don't think I could convincingly write that for you, sorry! I'm just not very good at choosing between requests.

Charming sighed as he sat at his desk opposite to Emma's in the station. He knew he had to have this talk with her no matter how awkward he felt doing it. He wouldn't have Emma throw her life away. He had noticed Emma was going out more and more at weekends and coming home in a bad state. She wasn't twenty one anymore, she wasn't a student. She was in her thirties now, a mother. It was happening more and more often and Charming didn't like it.

"Emma." He said in a quiet but stern voice that Emma knew demanded attention and meant something serious. She looked up from her paperwork. "We need to talk honey."

"Alright…shoot." She said, slightly concerned. Surely she was a little old for the birds and the bees? Charming nodded nervously, this was a sensitive subject and he didn't want to go around throwing out accusations.

"Well, it's just…you've been going out a lot more at the weekends to the Rabbit Hole recently." Emma nodded, wondering where her father was going with this. "And most times you're coming home a bad way. Emma I'm worried about you sweetheart. This was the way it all started with my dad. I don't want the same thing to happen to you." Emma sat back, taking it all in. Was her dad saying she was an alcoholic? Sure, she liked a good night but it wasn't like she needed it.

"Right, ok…" Emma said, unsure how to respond to this. "Dad, I don't have any alcohol issues if that's what you're getting at. I can understand you being worried given what happened with your dad but that doesn't mean I'm the same. But if it makes you feel better I'll avoid drinking for a while. I don't want you worrying about me.

"Oh Emma, I'll always worry about you, its part of the job." He said with a sad smile. "But I appreciate you doing that for me, thank you." Emma nodded, going back to her paperwork. Looks like she was on the soda for a while.
