Little Red

Prisky0731 asked for a oneshot of Red getting turned into an 11 year old and asking Emma not to tell anyone, but Snow and Granny find out when they see the child has traits of Red.

Happy first Once day of 2015 everyone, we made it!

"It's not funny." Red hissed as Emma was no longer able to hold back her laughter.

"Oh come on Red! It's a little bit funny. I mean, just look at you! You're the same age as Henry."

"I still have my rightful mind thank you very much; I am not the same age as Henry." The little girl snarled.

"Oh, what are you going to do? Turn into a wolf cub?" Emma teased her. Red just rolled her eyes.

"Just help me sort it would you? I've obviously drank some sort of potion or something. Regina just said I'll have to wait it out for the effects to wear off." Emma raised her eyebrow at Red.

"Then how exactly can I help you? If the only thing that'll help is time then I'm no use to you. I haven't mastered speeding up time yet." Emma said sarcastically.

"By keeping me away from my granny and your mother. You know how both of them are, they'll think it's adorable and hilarious and insist on taking lots of pictures." Red explained.

"That's not an easy task either. How am I meant to explain me hanging around with a random eleven year old girl to them? I can't even say you're one of Henry's friends in case we bump into him." Emma pointed out for a moment. Red knew she had a point. She thought for a moment.

"Just tell them that a different story character from this world, one that we haven't met. They'll have no reason to believe I'm anyone different…and you'd better think of who I am fast!" Red said, ducking down under the booth where they were sitting in Granny's. Emma pulled her back up onto the seat, acting so suspiciously was the surest way for Red to get caught! The diner had only just opened. Red had just finished up getting the place set up for the morning when she changed. Granny wouldn't be down till later as it was Red's turn to take the early shift and Snow was now their first customer of the day. Snow- with Neal in his buggy- saw Emma at the booth and came over, curious as to why her daughter was up and out so early. She had wondered why she couldn't hear Emma's snoring this morning. She hadn't seen the little girl Red yet.

"Hey Emma, you're up early. What you doing in here…" Then Snow noticed Red. "Oh, hello there, what's your name?" Snow asked, not recognising her best friend.

"This is Jill." Emma said quickly. "She's lost her brother…Jack." Emma swallowed hard hoping that her mother wouldn't see straight through her lie and say that Jack and Jill weren't real. Thankfully, Snow just smiled at the girl. "I brought her in here to have breakfast before we go to look for him but Red's became sick and Granny isn't awake yet." Emma explained.

"Oh right. Well I have some candy in my purse." Snow said, opening the bag. "Starbursts. Do you like starbursts Jill?" Snow asked. Red shook her head.

"No thanks, I don't like the way sweets like that stick to my teeth, feels gross." Red mentally kicked herself after she said it, that was one of her own weird traits. Luckily Granny came downstairs distracting them all.

"Where is that girl of mine? She was meant to be on early! Has she just set up and taken off?" Granny asked the small group. Red daren't look at her granny in the eye in case she recognised her.

"She got sick and headed back to bed. Said quite specifically for nobody to disturb her." Emma said, worried Granny would go check in on her. Granny just rolled her eyes and sighed.

"Honesty, didn't even have the sense to wake me up. Well I'd best get cooking then. What's everyone having?...well hello there little girl, what are you doing in here without a parent?" Granny asked, noticing Red.

"Granny this is Jill, she's looking for her brother. We just popped in here for something to eat first." Emma explained.

"Well I can make you some nice waffles with maple syrup if you like?" Granny offered.

"No thank you, I don't like the way syrup sticks to the roof of your mouth." Darn it, she'd done it again! This time she'd been caught out. Snow's eyes widened and Granny came over and got a closer look.

"Red?!" Granny and Snow said together. Red groaned before sliding down the booth. Emma couldn't help but laugh.

"Sorry little Red riding hood. Nothing I can do now." Emma said with a grin. Red shot Emma a look, this was going to be a long day.
