Kaden couldn't put his finger on it. There was definitely something unique about the little town of Storybrooke. Well for starters, there was his mom and dad's (that still felt weird for him to say) daughter Emma. His new sister, technically. She looked like she was the same age as their parents. Whenever he asked Neal about it he just shrugged it off, like he'd been told not to talk about it. He had asked mom and dad, but they just said they were a lot younger when they had Emma and they were a lot older than they looked. They always finished with this strange little smile that drove Kaden insane. What were they not telling him?! But it wasn't just Emma being the same age as mom and dad that was strange (or Emma's son being over a decade older than Neal). The whole town had an air of strangeness about it. For one thing a lot of the technology was outdated. The elementary school Kaden had started was slowly catching up but the teachers seemed totally out of their depth with the most basic of computer functions. What was even weirder was that a lot of the other children couldn't help them. Had these guys never seen an iPad before? Or learned how to do simple things on computers like save a file or even log in? It was like the whole town had been trapped in a time vortex. But it got weirder than that. There was an air of something else…an air almost like magic.
