Her strength

A guest asked for a oneshot of a sequel to "Can't fix this" where when Emma regains consciousness she can't speak properly. She and her parents are scared but Snowing stay strong for Emma.

And .goodness! I cannot believe I have reached 500 chapters! Thank you to you all for following, favouriting, reviewing and suggesting. You're all totally amazing and there would be no story without you.

Emma felt like her head had been plunged under water. Her heart was pounding at what seemed like a million beats a minute. Whenever she tried to pronounce anything it just came out as incoherent sounds. Tears were streaming down her face, what was going on here? Both her parents were upon her in seconds. She had finally woken up, but clearly not all was well. Was this going to be permanent?

"Emma, it's alright." Snow tried to soothe Emma, but her attempt was unsuccessful. Emma was clearly distressed.

"We'll explain everything to you." Charming promised her. "But you need to calm down for us first." He of course remembered what it was like to wake up from a coma. It's a terrifying experience and all he wanted to do was make it as easy for Emma as possible. Wanting some information, Emma tried her best to settle down. She looked up at her parents with sheer panic in her eyes. One question screaming loud and clear: why can't I talk?

"We don't have all the answers, sweetheart." Snow told her as she placed some hair behind her ear. "When we've talked we'll bring Whale through. We understand that this is scary for you. We don't know what happened to you, we found you knocked out about a fortnight ago on the beach. You've been in a coma every since. All Whale has told us is when you woke up (he actually said if but Snow wasn't telling Emma that) it would be a long recovery for you." There were tears in both Charming and Snow's eyes. Emma knew they were relieved to see her awake. Charming pulled Emma into his arms and kissed the side of her head.

"It's going to be ok." He told her. "You're strong, Emma. You're a fighter. We're going to make it through this. Your mother and I are going to be with you every step, ok?" Emma didn't answer, she couldn't. Snow took her hand and squeezed it tightly. This was horrid for Snow and Charming too, they knew Emma was scared and they couldn't fix it for her. But they couldn't break down in front of her, they would be the strength she needed to get better.
