Fainted

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma fainting for some unknown reason and Snowing get protective.

Coden Onodera your request has already been covered.

She had been fine for the majority of the day. Sure, she'd maybe had a bit of a sore head and didn't fancy eating anything but everyone feels a bit ill sometimes. Snow and Charming knew something was really wrong when she refused her mac and cheese for dinner. They didn't say anything though, just put it down to a possible developing tummy bug. But when Emma stood up from the table everything went black. All she remembered was falling back and, thankfully, being caught by her father…

When Emma regained consciousness she was lying in her parents' bed with something cold and wet on her forehead. She slowly opened her eyes to allow them to adjust to the light.

"Emma?" Emma looked to the side to see both her parents looking at her with deep concern. She realised the cold wet thing on her forehead was a cloth. "You've been out for about half an hour. What happened there?" Her mom asked.

"I dunno." Emma replied groggily. "Guess I must have just got up too fast. I'll be alright now, sorry if you got a fright…" Emma tried to get up from the bed to get herself a glass of water but found both her parents pushing her back against the pillows.

"I don't think so." Her dad said sternly. "You fainted. You're not moving."

"I was just getting myself a glass of water and heading to my own bed. I'm sure I'll manage." Emma said sassily.

"We've already got you water here." Snow picked up a glass and carefully held it to Emma's lips. Emma looked at her mom horrified. Did she really think she was incapable of holding her own glass?! Snow just looked straight back. Yes, clearly she did. Seeing there was no point in arguing (and Emma was really thirsty) she leaned forward. Emma was disgruntled when her mom pulled the glass back for a moment. "Easy there, small sips." She told her. Emma rolled her eyes but humoured her and took smaller sips until she was done and Snow placed the glass back down. "And you don't need to worry about moving- you can just stay here with me tonight."

"There is absolutely no need for that." Emma said, putting her foot down. "I can go upstairs to my own bed. I'll be fine-"

"You are staying here." Snow said firmly. "And I am staying with you in case you're sick during the night or anything else happens and you need someone there. Your father can go to your room with Neal." Emma looked to her dad in the hope he'd talk some sense into her mom but it was clear he agreed with her. Emma stayed stubbornly silent. "Good. I see you've realised resistance is futile." Snow said smugly. "I'll go get into my pyjamas and come back through. Night Charming." Snow said as she left, kissing him on the cheek. Emma could tell her dad was hanging around so Emma wasn't left alone.

"You can go get ready too, you know. I'm sure you won't spontaneously combust." Charming chuckled.

"Even so, I'll stick around." Emma sighed, they were becoming ridiculous. When Snow came back Charming said good night to them both and left upstairs with Neal. Snow got settled on the other side of the bed.

"Really?" Emma said crankily as her mom gave a feeble attempt to subtly tuck her in.

"Sorry, instincts." Snow laughed back. She kissed Emma's cheek and turned the lamp off. "Night angel. If you feel sick or anything just wake me up." Emma resisted the urge to say that she wasn't a child. She knew exactly what Snow would reply- that Emma was her child.
