Everything for her
Possible (i.e. a theory) spoiler warning! A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma reuniting an adult Lily with Maleficent. There's a bit at the end that I've put in just for a laugh and a bit of a dig at Maleficent now dying so many times and coming back to life and a joke as to who the dad is. I've separated it with a line so anyone who doesn't want to read it doesn't have to :)
Emma watched as the witch came forward and cupped Lily's face in her hands. Both women teary eyed. Emma (along with everyone else who had been present) had stepped back to give the pair their moment. Emma understood exactly how they would be feeling: scared, apprehensive, excited, happy and quite rightly angry. They shouldn't have to be reunited after three decades- they should have always been together. Emma turned round and found her mom amongst the crowd. Snow was already looking at her daughter, watching, waiting for a reaction from her. Snow wasn't sure how Emma was going to react to the situation given that she now knew who was responsible for Maleficent and Lily's separation, all she could do was hope for something that wasn't unfixable. Charming stood beside Snow, his hand on her shoulder. He too was giving their daughter a similar look- one that asked for understanding and forgiveness. Emma couldn't deny that she felt a slight resentment towards them both for putting such a weight and guilty burden on her before she was even born. She felt personally responsible for Lily not getting to grow up with her mother because her parents refused to work with Maleficent in case she became a villain. They were protecting her. Could Emma honestly say she wouldn't make the same choice for Henry's benefit? She still felt horrible about the whole situation, but seeing them now, Emma understood why they did it. She understood why they had been lying to her about it. It was like being back in the nursery at the castle in the Enchanted Forest all over again- they were putting her first. They had always put her first. Emma wished Lily and her mother well. She wished they got a chance to bond as Emma and her parents had. Emma gave a sort of half smile at her parents that nearly made them leap for joy. It was a smile that said that Emma understood, that she forgave them for the secrecy and lies. They couldn't hold back any longer, both Snow and Charming moved forward to where Emma stood and wrapped her in a group hug like they did when the curse first broke. But this time Emma reciprocated, holding her parents back just as tightly and filled with just as much love. They could have lost their own lightness for her, they took that chance. Emma knew they were still worried that their secret would put Emma down a dark path now, but she would prove to them that they did not need to worry. They had given up everything to keep her magic light- so Emma would do everything in her power to always stay on the right path. For them.
"Maleficent?" Nobody had noticed the unknown man pushing his way through the crowd. Emma didn't recognise him at all. His accent and appearance led Emma to believe he was Chinese. Maleficent took her hands off of Lily and turned to look at him- she certainly knew who he was.
"Dragon?" She gasped. The man nodded and Maleficent ran to him.
"How? I heard you were dead..."
"I was." The Dragon replied. "Well, at least I thought I was. It would appear dragons are immortal in this world regardless of how many times they're definitely killed." The Dragon looked past Maleficent to Lily. "Is this?..." He asked, gesturing to her. Maleficent gave him a teary nod.
"Who are you?" Lily asked, confused as to who the stranger was.
"I'm your father." He replied. Emma- much like the rest of Storybrooke- was shocked. She glanced from one parent to the other. Maybe her family tree wasn't so bizarre.
