Skateboarding

lynnebug01 asked for a oneshot of Snowing finding a video of Emma skateboarding where she hurts herself badly.

It was one of the most stressful situations both Snow and Charming had been through- and they had both led armies into war. There were a few more short video clips on the recorder in Emma's childhood box. One of the last videos on there was Emma at about aged sixteen at a skateboarding park. Snow and Charming preferred to watch the videos and look at any pictures alone now that Emma had given them permission to do so. It meant Emma didn't get uncomfortable with how emotional they sometimes became. Like when they watched this video.

"Go Emma!"

"Dude this is totally awesome! Is she really going from the mountain?"

"Yeah she is! Emma is totally badass!"

Snow and Charming watched in horror as Emma waved at the camera from the highest ramp in the park that they guessed was "the mountain". Snow had to restrain herself from yelling out for Emma to be careful, but it was no use. This incident happened years ago. And so the parents watched on in horror as something went wrong halfway down the ramp and Emma came flying off the board and crashed down at the bottom.

"Shit!" The boy who must have been holding the camera shouted. He- along with the rest of the group- ran over to where Emma lay in the heap Snow and Charming's stomachs flipped when they saw the state she was in. It was clear she'd done a lot of damage. They were just grateful she had been wearing a helmet- although wished she had been wearing elbow and knee pads. It seemed to them that those joints were what took the worst hit. It pulled at their heartstrings when they heard her groan in pain, unable to even open her eyes. "Quick! Someone call an ambulance!" And then the camera cut off. Snow and Charming sat in silence now staring at the blank screen. All they each had wanted to do was reach through the screen and hold their child. No- stop it from happening all together. But it was just another painful reminder of everything they had missed. All the pain they could have prevented her from suffering.
