Guitar skills- part 2
A guest asked for a oneshot of a follow up to "Guitar skills" where Snowing find out and ask Emma to play for them.
"This is ridiculous and unnecessary." Emma complained, mortified. "I haven't played properly for years, and even when I was in my prime I was a total amateur. I was no Jimi Hendrix." Both her parents and her son gave her blank expressions, Emma was astounded they hadn't heard of him. "The guitarist? Oh come on guys! I know you were stuck in the eighties for a while but even then! And you kid, I don't know what your excuse is with YouTube."
"Well we're not interested in Jimi Hendrix." Charming pointed out. "I, for one, am only interested in hearing my daughter play." Emma had to look away from the intense pride shimmering from his eyes. You would think she'd just won a scholarship to music school.
"Yes, I agree with your father." Snow chimed in. "Come on Em, it's not like we got to go to a school concert you were in." Emma could see the puppy dog pout forming.
"Yeah, come on mom. You were totally wicked in the shop!" Henry shouted, excited. Emma rolled her eyes but picked up the guitar pick and Henry's guitar. Snow, Charming and Henry held their breaths in excitement.
"Well since you guys loved the eighties so much." Emma sighed. She then began to play the chords to "Sweet child o' mine" by Guns'n'Roses from memory. She was good with music like that, never forgot a tune once it was in her head. When she was done she looked up to see her "audience" looking on in what appeared to be amazement. Before she knew it her parents were standing up clapping fiercely. Were they really giving her a standing ovation in the living room?
"Encore!" Charming cried out. Emma shook her head rapidly and placed the guitar back down.
"No way. I officially retire from guitar." She announced. Henry let out a great "aww" of disappointment but nobody else pushed the matter any further, they respected her decision. Snow and Charming were just grateful they got to hear her and in some way experience part of her past.
