Fatherly advice
A guest asked for a oneshot of Henry asking Killian for advice as a father figure.
Henry swirled the last few crumbs from his chocolate cake around the plate.
"What's the matter lad?" Killian asked. "Was it too rich? Feeling sick?" Henry shook his head.
"No, I wanted to ask you something." Henry mumbled. He knew that Killian was going to be taking him out for lunch today (he also knew it was a nicer way of saying that Killian was to babysit Henry but he didn't mention that) and felt it was the perfect time to ask him the question he'd been wanting to ask in private. Killian noticed that Henry was stalling.
"Well, spit it out mate. We've not got all day. We're meeting your mum in a couple of hours to go bowling."
"There's this girl." Henry blurted out quickly. Killian smiled, of course there was a girl. Henry was thirteen now, coming to the stage of being interested in the opposite sex. "Her name's Grace. She's the mad hatter's daughter. She's in my class at school and she's really pretty." Henry said dreamily. "But I can't ask her out or anything like that, then she'll know I'll like her." Killian bit his lip to stop himself from laughing.
"Well aye lad, that's kind of the point of it all. If you like this girl, surely you'd like her to be your girlfriend?" Henry blushed bright pink but nodded. "Well there you go, we miss one hundred percent of the chances we don't take. If she's got any sense she'll say yes, you're a fine boy."
"Ok…" Henry said, still sounding unsure. "But how do I do it?" Killian thought for a moment.
"Do you know what chocolate she likes?" Henry nodded.
"Dairy milk."
"Great, buy her a big bar of that and hide it somewhere you know only she'll get it with a note saying "from your secret admirer". The ladies love that kind of stuff. Also means you can watch her reaction and know if it's best to abort for a while." Henry nodded, liking the sound of the idea.
"Yeah, I like that. Thanks Killian." Killian smiled and ruffled the boy's hair.
"Any time lad, any time."
