Wonderful mash

hersheykisser25 asked for a oneshot of a grown up Emma and Neal coming home for dinner and getting into a fight. I've lowered the age gap between them for this to work.

Snow's mashed potato was the best in any world. Well at least that's what both her children thought. They may both be adults but that mashed potato was always worth squabbling over.

"You had the last of it at Thanksgiving." Emma hissed while her parents were washing dishes. "And dad got the last at Christmas and New Year so it's my turn."

"Please, how old are you Emma? There are no turns for mashed potato. Look, there's still some peas left. You can have them instead." Neal went to pick up the spoon to dish out the mashed potato for himself but Emma grabbed his wrist.

"I am getting that mashed potato." She said more firmly. "Accept it and move on." Neal tried to pull the spoon away from her and ended up splattering Emma's face with mashed potato. Emma gasped as Neal laughed at how stupid she looked. Emma saw red and grabbed the peas, squishing them up and matting them into Neal's hair.

"Emma, Neal, what on Earth is going on?" Snow asked from the doorway, hands on her hips and stern look on her face.

"As usual your son is being a brat." Emma snarled.

"As usual your daughter is being a bossy boots who thinks she can always get her own way." Neal retorted.

"That's enough from both of you." Charming said in such a stern voice that both Emma and Neal gulped. "Your mom worked hard to prepare this meal and you're wasting food. You're both adults, you should be ashamed of yourselves. But since you're acting like children you can be punished like children. Both of you march upstairs to your rooms and don't dare come out until you're told you can." Both Emma and Neal opened their mouths to argue but the serious look coming from both parents put them off. Begrudgingly, they stormed upstairs resisting the urge to get into a full on fist fight with each other like they did as children. Snow and Charming just looked at each other and sighed. They never stopped really being children!
