2 asked for a oneshot of Neal saving his parents.
To the guest who asked for a Toxic sequel: As it happens, you will be getting a sequel as someone else asked for it, but I ask that people leave a gap between asking for requests :)
Like everyone who didn't have magic, his parents had fallen under yet another sleeping curse. Except this time they were both under so true love's kiss wasn't going to wake them up. Neal would just have to wait until Emma got back from Florida with Killian and Henry to help fix things. He was one of the few heroes left conscious- him and the fairies (the villains had taken extra measures to make sure Regina was also affected by the spell). He sat at the end of his parents' bed where they lay eerily still clutching his father's sword. As soon as Neal heard the door click open he knew it wasn't his sister- it was one of the villains. He was up in a flash, running out to the living room. He found himself face to face with Maleficent.
"Back off witch." Neal snarled. Maleficent gave the teen her trademark smirk.
"I don't think I will." She said coolly. "Your parents are the biggest heroes of the Enchanted Forest. If they die hope dies with them-"
"I will never let you murder my parents!" Neal yelled. Maleficent tried to bind him to the wall with her magic but found herself unable. Her smirk curled into a snarl.
"Your magic is strong." She admitted. "Well then boy, if a fight's what you want- a fight is what you will get."
An intense duel sprung up between the two. Neal knew Maleficent's magic was incredibly powerful, so his goal was never to defeat her. Simply to hold her off until Emma came home. After a fatal error by Maleficent Neal was able to blast her out of the front door and create a cloaking spell around the house that she couldn't remove.
"You're not as dim-witted as you look boy." Maleficent said, sounding amused. "Never the less, you won't win. You've just bought yourself time. You might as well use it to say your goodbyes." And with that, she disappeared. Neal went back into the room just to make sure his mom and dad were alright. When he was certain they were he went to the couch to rest.
Neal woke up to Emma returning home. Once she was back the power balance shifted in favour of the heroes and the villains were able to be defeated and their spell removed. But Snow and Charming would never find out how brave Neal had been, he never told anyone. He knew his parents would have heart attacks if they ever found out!
