Dress-up
bluerose921 asked for a oneshot of Neal wanting to play dress up with Emma and for her to be the princess.
"Oh come on Emma, pleeeeeease?" Neal begged, giving his big sister his best puppy dog pout. Emma did her best to avoid looking directly at her brother, lest she be drawn in by his cuteness.
"Kid I'll dress up as basically anything else. I'll be a cowgirl, a superhero, any animals, an astronaut, heck, I'll even be a knight. But I won't be a princess." Emma couldn't resist looking down and she felt terribly guilty at the way his face fell. "Think about it, I don't have any dress up clothes to be a princess." Emma pointed out.
"You could borrow mommy's Princess dress." Neal suggested. Emma grimaced. She knew the only dress their mom had from the Enchanted Forest was her wedding dress. Given that Emma knew that wedding dress probably ended up on the floor at the end of the day and, given the timeline, the result was probably her she was reluctant to wear it.
"That's a very special dress buddy. Sometimes when we play dress up we get a little dirty and mommy would be very sad if I got her special dress dirty." Emma tried to explain. This didn't deter Neal in the slightest He went behind Emma and shoved her into their parents' room.
"Then we'll be very careful!" He shouted happily as he shut the door behind her. "I'll wait here until you're ready to play!" Emma was flabbergasted. That little sneak! Emma could see Neal was determined to get her into that wedding dress so she decided the quicker she did this, the quicker she could get out of it again. So as quickly (and carefully) as possible Emma got changed into her mom's wedding dress. She was surprised at how well it fit her, and how comfortable it was for Enchanted Forest gear. She came out and couldn't deny how lovely it was to see Neal's face light up.
"Ok princess. You go to the dungeon and I'll fight the dragon and come rescue you!" Emma knew that the dungeon was the couch so she went and sat down and waited for Neal to "save her".
They were nearing the end of their game when their parents came home. Emma's face filled with dread as they clapped eyes on her in the dress.
"Is that my wedding dress?" Snow asked, pointing at Emma. Emma nodded sheepishly.
"Um yeah… Neal begged me. Sorry I'll go take it off…"
"Not until we get a photo!" Charming said, rushing off to get the camera. Emma's mouth fell open in shock. Her mom was grinning proudly at her.
"You look beautiful." Snow told her. "We'll need a few pictures for the family album." Emma gave a half-hearted smile in return. She knew putting on this dress was a bad idea!
