Horsey surprise
guest100 asked for a oneshot of Emma going to the stables with her parents and showing them that she can show jump.
Snow and Charming stood in both shock and pride as Emma manoeuvred her way around the paddock with the horse she'd adopted a couple of months ago without telling either of her parents. She had wanted this to be a surprise. Every so often, there is a Foster placement that's almost like the movie Annie- except there's very rarely the happy ending where the rich person realises that they love the child and want to adopt them permanently. No, they use them for a couple of months to boost their sales or get good media coverage without caring how much damage it can do to the child when they're dumped back in a group home. Emma once had such a placement one summer when she was twelve. To keep her out of the house to couple had hired a coach for Emma to learn show jumping. She had overheard them saying something one day about "teaching the little mite some class" but she ignored it as she loved it so much. It turned out Emma was a natural, and given her newly discovered heritage it was easy to understand why. She finished a routine she had taught her new horse Dixie and rode her over to her parents, hopping down with a grin.
"So, what do you think?" she asked.
"Where did you learn to ride like that?" Charming asked her. Emma shrugged, knowing they wouldn't want to hear the full story.
"Old school thing." She lied. "Anyway, good surprise?" She asked, quickly changing the subject. They both nodded frantically.
"We are very impressed." Snow told her. "Any other hidden talents?" Emma laughed and shook her head.
"No, I'm a one trick pony…get it?" Both her parents rolled their eyes at her dreadful pun. Clearly she was no comedian.
