Toxic- part 2

A few people have asked for a oneshot of a follow up to "Toxic" where Snow sees Emma.

Charming had of course called ahead to make sure Snow knew the situation when Emma got home. From the second she hung up on Charming she started pacing up and down the hall waiting for them to return. She knew that they should have done something sooner. Her maternal instincts alarm had been going crazy ever since Emma had told them she and Terry were an item. She had never trusted him, and now she knew why. Charming hadn't liked the guy either, but they'd shoved their feelings to the side accepting that Emma liked him and that was all that mattered. Well never again. From now on there would be thorough background checks and frequent check-ups regardless of how busy Emma claimed they were! She didn't blame Emma at all, Charming had explained why she was scared to leave him and that just angered Snow even more. She'd already sent Neal to Philip Jr's house so he didn't get distressed at the state of his sister. Snow jumped to attention when she heard the lock turn. She rushed forward to open the door. Charming came in heavily supporting Emma. Even though she'd been warned Snow still gasped at the sight of her daughter. The yellow bruise visible over much of one side of her face. The paleness of her skin, the limpness of her hair. The defeated way she held herself. Snow saw red.

"I'm going to kill him." She snarled. Charming only just managed to hook an arm around her waist and pull her back inside.

"Snow I've already beaten him half to death. He knows he either leaves today or I finish the job." Charming reminded her. "We need to focus on Emma just now." He whispered to her. Snow turned and saw Emma shivering in the hallway. She moved to her and wrapped her arms tightly around Emma who in return snaked her arms around her mother.

"You're safe here." Snow promised here. "We're going to look after you. He won't be able to hurt you again." Charming came over and pulled both his girls into his arms. Emma allowed herself to melt into her parents' warm embrace. This was the safest she'd felt in a very long time. She just wanted to savour the moment and feel grateful that she had parents who would always protect her.
