The parent

Autumn37 asked for a oneshot of Emma going to parents' night for Henry but it's weird seeing as her mom is the teacher.

Guest who claims I hate Charming and says I should remove his name from the tag: Simply put: no. I don't hate Charming, but if people mainly ask for mama Snow I will mainly write mama Snow.

Guest100 and Ouatfan: I ask that people leave a gap between requests :)

Emmafan: I'm afraid that's too similar to "Her protectors".

And on a final note: I've started work, so things are going to be very sparse right now.

"Miss Swan?" Snow said awkwardly. Emma stood up amongst the other parents of the fifth graders in the corridor and walked into the classroom with Snow behind her Regina was still sitting there, after the fourth grade parents' night fiasco it was decided it was best (and safest) for all if they had separate appointments. Snow didn't like calling her daughter by her surname, but it was agreed beforehand that they would leave their family relations at home. Tonight they were just a teacher and a parent. They didn't know who they were kidding: they both knew they were still mother and daughter sitting there.

"So, Mrs Nolan, how is Henry progressing this year?" Emma asked, attempting to keep her role as "only Henry's mom".

"Very well considering the absences." Snow said, shuffling some papers about. "I do understand the circumstances, don't worry Miss Swan. He's managing to keep up in all curricular areas with his peers and is showing particular skill in creative writing. Sometimes he can be a little tired in the mornings. I would suggest putting his bedtime back from ten pm to half nine…"

"Mom." Emma sighed. "One: a teacher wouldn't know his bedtime. Two: Even if they did they wouldn't tell of the parent for not having it as early as they want. Stick to being his teacher and not his overbearing grandmother."

"I am not overbearing!" Snow complained. Emma just gave her a look. Snow grumbled under her breath that they would continue this topic at home but pulled out some examples of Henry's recent maths work beside some from the beginning of the year.

"Here, to show you the progress." Snow said, slightly more grumpily than she might have. Emma ignored her and picked up the two examples. She nodded thoughtfully.

"He still has a little trouble with neatness in his sums I see. Any suggestions on how we can work on that?" Emma asked.

"Well maths is normally what we do in the morning, where Henry is normally overtired. So if you put his bedtime back he would be less tired and would take more care in his work." Snow said triumphantly. Emma rolled her eyes.

"I thought I was the parent in this conference?" She reminded her mom.

"You are." Snow said. "It just so happens that I am too."
