The only ones awake
Jade Star asked for a oneshot of Snowing going back to the apartment whilst Hook and Emma were under the sleeping spell. Thank you for including a spoiler warning. As I'm British I don't get to watch the episode until Monday at the earliest so that was much appreciated.
"But Emma hasn't." Snow said, heart pounding in her chest. Charming was having the same reaction- their baby girl was alone and vulnerable and the villains were going to try and use that. Together, they sprinted off towards they apartment.
"Can I just wring her scrawny neck now?" Cruella droned.
"That," Snow snarled "would be a very dangerous thing to try and do." The villains turned round to see Snow and Charming standing at the doorway to the living room looking absolutely furious. Snow and Charming went to stand in front of the sleeping couple when Maleficent aimed her staff at them.
"Stay were you are." She said coolly. Snow and Charming froze on the spot immediately. "There, that's better." Snow caught Regina's eye and could see that Regina was incredibly anxious.
"Maleficent leave them alone." Charming warned her. "They've done nothing wrong. It's us you have a quarrel with." Maleficent's eyes flashed with rage.
"Isn't it? Tell me, wasn't it to do with her that you stole my child?" Maleficent asked. Snow and Charming felt their guilt rise to the surface.
"We were tricked." Charming told her. "We had every intention of bringing your child back…"
"But even then you had done something to them to do with her!" Maleficent spat, tip of her staff pointing dangerously at Emma.
"Ok, yes, we took your child in connection with Emma but that doesn't make it Emma's fault. She wasn't even born yet. She's innocent in all of this. Please Maleficent. Don't hurt our daughter."
"I begged you not to take my child. Why shouldn't I kill yours in return? My child is as good as dead to me!" Maleficent roared, a single tear trickling down her cheek.
"Because we still need Emma once we find the Author." Regina pointed out. "We need the saviour to turn dark to help us find our happy endings."
"Unfortunately Regina is correct." Rumplestiltskin agreed. "We cannot kill Miss Swan, not yet anyway…"
"Nobody is ever killing my daughter!" Charming yelled. Just then, Snow's phone rang. Maleficent followed the noise to Snow's jacket pocket.
"Well answer it then." She said.
"Whilst you have a weapon pointed at my daughter? They can wait." Snow snarled.
"No. Answer it. Now. Let us see who's calling you." Sensing that she had no choice, Snow pulled her phone out of her pocket just as it stopped ringing, but the person called back only a second later and Henry's face flashed up onto the screen. Charming alone caught the fear in Regina's eyes. "Answer it on speaker phone." Maleficent ordered. "Place it on the table in front of you." Not wanting anyone to hurt either Emma or Killian Snow did as she was told.
"Hello grandma?"
"Henry, are you alright?" Snow croaked. She prayed he wouldn't give away his location.
"Yeah I'm fine. They've put everyone to sleep. I think they're after the page from my book. But it's alright. I've kept it hidden…"
"Good job Henry. Just stay hidden and stay safe until this is over." Snow quickly cut in before he told them where he was. Maleficent shot Snow a dangerous look.
"Yeah, I plan to. They'll never find it hidden amongst all the other copies at the Author's mansion." Charming closed his eyes and cursed under his breath.
"Yeah, good hiding place Henry." Snow said sadly. "But why don't you go hide somewhere else away from the book…" Maleficent aimed her staff at the phone and the call cut off.
"Nice try." She said. "We'll need his help to find the correct copy." Charming looked to Rumplestiltskin.
"He's your grandson too." He reminded him.
"I have no intention of hurting the boy…as long as he cooperates."
"Nobody lays a finger on Henry. Understood?" Regina warned, her patience with the villains beginning to fray.
"Well best hope he does as he's told then. Now, I do believe we'll need a bit of a head start…" With that Maleficent aimed her staff at the Charmings and they found themselves back on the beach where they started.
"Quickly, they're after Henry now." Charming said, grabbing Snow's hand. They knew they wouldn't make it to the mansion first- but they could make it there to stop them hurting Henry.
