Emma in the middle- part 3

A couple of people have asked for a oneshot of another sequel to "Emma in the middle". This will be the last in this miniseries.

"Mom honestly I'm fine." Marali said, gently shooing her mom away. Today was Alexandria's birthday Ball- it was the first Ball since Rapunzel's. "Go help Emma with her dress, it's more fiddly anyway." Snow smiled warmly at her eldest. Nobody had actually told Marali or Neal about the situation with Emma, but they seemed to have picked it up by themselves, and were both being incredibly supportive of their sister. Every opportunity they got they would tell their parents to do something with Emma instead of them.

"Thanks honey, but I tried before I came in here. She doesn't want my help." Snow said sadly. Marali rolled her eyes.

"Honestly mom I would have thought you knew better. Of course Emma wants your help. She's testing you. Go help her before it's too late and she gets grumpy at this Ball too." Snow grimaced- really not wanting a repeat performance.

"Thanks honey." She said, leaving to go assist Emma. Snow made her way down the corridor and knocked on Emma's door. "Emma, it's me sweetie. Can I come in?"

"Um yeah sure." Emma replied. Snow walked in to see Emma struggling with the fastening at the back of her dress.

"Here. Let her help." Snow said gently. Emma dropped her hands and let her mom do up the dress for her. Snow smiled as she looked at her daughter's reflection in the mirror. "You look absolutely beautiful." She said. Emma just smiled awkwardly. "Your dad's going to be so proud when he sees you. You're both going to look wonderful together during the first dance."

"Wait, first dance? You and dad always take the first dance together? Then Marali second-"

"Not today." Charming said from the doorway. "Today I take it with you. Normally when I try and find you to dance with you've slumped off to hide somewhere and I don't get the chance. I'm not missing it today so it's you and me first baby." He said. "And then on Wednesday you've got the final of your tournament. Your mother and I have front row seats with Neal and Marali. We're all rooting for you sweetie." He promised. There had been a clear shift in the relationship with Emma and her parents since Rapunzel's Ball, but it still wasn't as good as either parent hoped. But they would get there. Snow and Charming wouldn't give up on any of their children.
