Mama Mayor

katiek121 asked for a oneshot of Henry and Regina when he was little.

"Please mama." The little boy begged, blinking up at her with massive sad eyes. "Just one more chapter?" Regina chuckled, how could she say no to him? He was just so persuasive. He loved his bedtime stories, he was such an imaginative child. If only he knew who everyone around him really was.

"Alright." Regina sighed, getting back under the covers beside Henry. "One more chapter- and that's it. I mean it." Henry clapped with glee and snuggled back up beside her. Regina opened the book to where they had finished up just moments ago and began to read to him again. This was the time it was easiest for Regina to make her little boy smile. She could put on silly voices for the characters and pull funny faces without the pressure of having to be the stern, cold hearted mayor that she was to the rest of the town. Here she was just Henry's mom. She could ignore her mother's old voice. Love was not weakness. Love was freedom. Regina just had to look into Henry's eyes whilst he giggled at one of her voices to know that.

Regina didn't even get to finish the chapter before he was asleep. She kissed his forehead, got out of the bed, tucked him in and turned off the lamp.

"Good night, my little prince."
