I am so sorry for the mess up. I think it does that when I write on the iPad. I had tried to update while I was traveling but that did not work out so well. Here is the corrected Chapter 10.
As always I do not own Vampire Diaries.
Chapter 10
Hazel eyes fluttered open as the 15 year old immortal tried to get a handle on her surroundings. She furrowed her brow slightly seeing she was in a room that she did not recognize. Jess groggily sat up on the bed trying to remember what had happened, but her gaze was drawn to the windows that had a small stream of sunlight coming through the curtains. Jessica went wide eyed as she bolted up from laying down as the events of the night before flooded her mind. She looked down seeing she was no longer in the clothes she had arrived to New York in. The browned hair young woman slowly slipped out of the bed rolling her shoulder not feeling any pain any more. She quickly rushed into the bathroom to look at her face and neck. Jessica pulled up the large shirt she was wearing and didn't see a scar from where she had been stabbed the night prior. Jessica was not even six months into being a vampire. She wasn't used to the insane healing factor she had or any of the enhanced senses. A small gasp escaped her lips as she covered her face trying to compartmentalize the sudden overwhelming emotions that started surging through her. Her hazel eyes squeezed themselves shut before they snapped open as she was assaulted by the smell of fresh blood. Jessica turned her head to the right as she saw a black haired woman dressed in a maid outfit meaning it was one of the women who was compelled to work in Klaus' home. "Who is she?" Jessica asked slowly.
"This is Stephanie…one of the many workers here who is able to meet the needs of our kind," Klaus answered from behind the maid now known as Stephanie. He moved the hair that was covering the right side of her neck showing blood trickling down her neck from a deep bite showing. Klaus smirked at the young immortal moving Stephanie's head down and to the left. "She has a rather delectable taste."
Jessica's hazel eyes darkened as they studied Stephanie's neck before noticing a small trail of blood on Klaus' lip. She swallowed thickly, feeling the familiar burn in her throat making her realize that feeding from Klaus the night before was not enough. Jess had been taught control from Rose over the last three months and improved tremendously, but killing wolves, saving Caroline, and running out on her family had overwhelmed her senses and emotions. Right this moment, she wanted to give into the urge to tear into Stephanie's neck, but didn't dare lose control. "I don't want your sloppy seconds," she hissed lightly, turning her head away to stop herself from looking at Stephanie. Time froze as there was a sickening crack all of a sudden causing Jess' eyes to widen in shock as she saw Stephanie's body drop to the floor dead. Her nerves spiked drastically as she looked at Klaus in fear.
"Then she is no more use to me," Klaus said emotionlessly. He lifted his hand motioning to the other compelled house worker that was standing in the doorway. "This is Lorena. I haven't touched her at all. None of my minions have even touched her. I can see you are looking starved, Jessica. You need to feed. I am sure Elijah has told you the importance of feeding multiple times a day when you are a young vampire. You my dear are not even six months old."
Jessica swallowed thickly as her need for blood slowly became worse. He was right. Because of how young she was, she had to feed multiple times a day to develop control. After last night, her feeding schedule went out of whack, and now she had to drink from the vein. Rose and Elijah both taught her to perfect it, but she preferred blood bags. "Do…you not own any blood bags?" she asked softly. The hazel eyed vampire frowned as Klaus raised an eyebrow at her. Jess sighed heavily, rubbing her throat slightly. "What exactly is she compelled to do?" she asked the elder vampire.
"Anything that you say. She will not scream or make any noise while she is fed from. In fact, I have a feeling she'll quite like it," Klaus responded as he slowly pushed Lorena towards Jessica. The blue eyed Original smirked seeing the internal struggle that Jessica was having with herself. He could tell she knew how to drink from the vein, but she didn't appear to like doing it.
Jess looked at Klaus one last time before looking at Lorena and grabbing the maid's wrist to pull her towards her. The immortal 15 year old eagerly bit down on her neck drinking from her. She inhaled as she moved her hands into the maid's hair to give Jessica more access to bite down harder. For the first time since Jessica turned, she felt herself losing control as she drank. She had fed from the gas station worker with Elijah as well as other people in isolated places over the last few months but being around Rose or Elijah always made her stop herself from killing the person even though she always wanted to drink more. She could feel Klaus' eyes on her as he watched her control slip further and further in fascination, but Jessica didn't care about him staring. All she cared about at that moment was feeding from Lorena. Jess pulled away panting slightly with a small trail of blood going down her chin as her eyes fluttered open trying to process that she was finished. The young vampire let Lorena's body slip from her arms and fall to the floor to join Stephanie's body. Jess wasn't feeling overwhelmed…well she was but not from her emotions being heightened. No, she was feeling overwhelmed from having drained the blood from Lorena. Jessica looked at Klaus frowning slightly as she took a step back. The high she was feeling was not one she wanted to feel again. A sharp inhale sounded from her lips as fear began spreading through her veins. She had killed the werewolves the night prior because they had threatened Caroline, but this woman was an innocent who hadn't done anything wrong. "What the hell did I just do?" she whispered more to herself softly trying to furiously wipe away the blood that was on her chin off of her skin. A soft whimper left Jessica's lips as she stepped away from Klaus as he stepped closer to her. "No!" she exclaimed a little louder than normal.
"Jessica, look at me," Klaus ordered as he gently took her hands away from her face showing that she had scratched herself and was bleeding. Klaus' suspicions were correct…Jessica – if she turned off her emotions – she could easily be a Ripper. Klaus had a feeling that Elijah figured this out, unless there was a different side of Jessica he had yet to see. The blonde Original watched as the scratches healed on Jessica's chin before he lightly held her jaw trying to get her to calm down. "Breathe with me," he said softly as he began slowly breathing in and out wanting to prevent her from having a panic attack. After almost ten minutes of getting Jessica to breathe with him and calm down, he gave a faint smile. "Good. Now, tell me what is wrong. Why were you reacting like that?" he asked slowly not wanting to startle her again.
"I killed her," she whispered not looking into Klaus' blue eyes. She swallowed thickly shaking her head rapidly. "I shouldn't have killed her. I didn't need to kill her. I could have just healed her and compelled her!" The young immortal began rambling and ranting to herself trying to justify her actions.
Klaus didn't feel pity for the young immortal…instead he felt empathetic towards her as he and his family had horrid control when they were first turned. "Jessica, you are a young vampire. To be quite honest, I am shocked you don't have a higher body count. When my family was newly turned…well I am sure you saw the memories from Elijah. Every member of my family had a hard time controlling themselves for years. You have managed to gain a certain level of control that should take nearly two or three decades to learn. Do not beat yourself up for a simple mishap. Do not give me that look, Jessica. You needed to eat. It is just like when humans eat cows, or pigs, or chickens. Those animals must die in order for humans to eat them, correct?" Klaus normally wouldn't act this way, but something in his gut was telling him that Jessica would become very important to his family. The blonde Original had a feeling that she – although Elijah took her under his wing – would become closer with someone other than Elijah.
A growl left Klaus' throat as there was a knock on Jessica's door signaling that Maddox had arrived with more information. "What?" he snapped as he flung open the door with Jessica behind him. The Original glared at the Warlock while Jessica turned and began going through her bag for something. When Maddox didn't answer right away as the warlock was staring at Jess, Klaus blocked her from view of the magic user. "Well?" he demanded.
"He's here," Maddox answered swallowing thickly.
"Who is here?" Klaus asked frowning as he narrowed his eyes.
"Hello Niklaus," the voice of Elijah sounded behind Maddox as the suit wearing Original appeared. Elijah has one hand in his pants pocket while he stared Klaus down. His brown eyes flickered to see Jessica looking at him before they noticed the two bodies on the floor. A dark look crossed his face as his nostrils flared while giving his younger brother a look demanding an explanation.
"Don't give me that look, Brother," Klaus growled out as he moved away from the door and towards Jessica. "Leave us," he ordered Maddox before smirking at Elijah. "I only killed one of them," he quipped as he slipped back into the persona of the Big Bad Hybrid.
Jessica inhaled sharply in slight shock at how fast Klaus to do a 180 in his attitude and looked away as Elijah's dark eyes flashed to her in confusion. She swallowed thickly closing her eyes for a moment trying to push away the confused yet disappointed look she saw Elijah have. "I…I didn't mean to Elijah. I was just so hungry, and I couldn't stop." She slowly opened her eyes as she felt her face being lifted and saw Elijah in front of her. The confusion and disappointment had vanished and was replaced with worry.
"You do not need to apologize, Jessica. We will work together to make sure your control is better. If there are occasional slip ups, that is alright. You are still learning how to deal with all of this." Elijah said lightly gazing at her before kissing her forehead like he would to Rebekah over the centuries. "Let us go. If you are not ready to go back home, that is alright, but I think it is best if you are no longer around Niklaus."
"Why is that Brother?" Klaus growled. "Do you see me as a bad influence on her? Is that it? Or do you believe that I will turn her into a monster like myself?!" Klaus' voice was slowly getting louder and louder as he fired off questions and words Elijah hadn't even said. He snarled as Elijah pushed on his chest finally responding.
"You, Niklaus, corrupt innocent people exactly like Jessica-" Elijah began saying before the brothers were pushed apart by Jessica.
"Stop it! Both of you, just stop!" she exclaimed loudly. She turned to Elijah. "I am not innocent. Not anymore. I killed multiple people in the last few days. I died when I was 15, and now I am forever stuck looking too young for anyone to ever like me romantically. The fucking Salvatore brothers especially Stefan took advantage of me in the worst way possible. Do not call me innocent. Do not treat me like a child, Elijah because I am not one. And you!" she yelled as she turned to face Klaus. "There you go again hiding and being a coward and not actually acting like a grown ass man especially when your brother is supposedly accusing you of something!" Jessica stormed away from the two of them before throwing off Klaus' hand that caught her arm. "Both of you need to leave me alone and figure the hell out how you're going to get along because if you guys act like this every time, I want no part of it." Jessica turned and stormed out of the bedroom and downstairs to the kitchen to get some kind of semblance of peace.
