Dragon Rider
A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma finding an unhatched dragon egg and keeping it without telling anyone. At a later battle her parents are surprised to see her come riding in on a dragon. I haven't read or seen Eragon so I'm afraid the only connections will be accidental! There will be more nods to "How to train your Dragon" than anything else lol.
Emma knew that the time was right now- they would not win this battle without him.
"It's alright." Emma cooed, gently stroking his head. "Just like we've practiced. Nobody's going to hurt either of us, Naga. We're going to win this war for them. Now come on." Emma tugged at the dragon's reins and he soared into the sky. Emma knew by this point her parents would be worried sick that she was either dead, injured or had been kidnapped by the enemy. She had been hiding Naga from them for eight long years. They had always told her that dragons were dangerous, vicious, untrustworthy creatures who only caused death and destruction. It was time Emma showed them how wrong they were. She had found Naga injured and frightened one day whilst strolling through the forest. The poor thing was shaking and ravenous. Since Emma fed him and led him to a warm cave to rest he became loyal to her and soon Emma was able to begin to train him. Now the time had come to show her family that dragons could be used to help them, rather than be viewed as a pest at best or an enemy at worst.
It took two hours for Emma to reach Naga's cave walking. It took them around fifteen minutes flying. Together they swooped into the battle and had the enemy retreating in record time. Emma grinned at her parents as she had Naga land in front of them once the area was secure. They both had their eyes wide open and their jaws hitting the ground. Emma had a dragon? Emma could ride a dragon? Since when?!
"This is Naga. He's been my pet for eight years. I figured he might be able to help today. Not quite the dangerous, vicious, untrustworthy creature you'd think ay?" Snow and Charming didn't answer, they couldn't, they were totally speechless. Emma knew this meant things were going to change for the dragon population of the Enchanted Forest. And for all their enemies.
