Heroes and villains
Anna asked for a oneshot based on Emma locked in the tower for 4x21/2 promo. Bit of a warning but Snow is not going to be nice to Emma in this chapter!
Guest who asked for Neal being bullied and Babe: I'm afraid your requests have already been too closely covered.
"Well, don't just stand there!" Snow snapped. "Why are you here?"
"It-it's your daughter, your majesty." The knight stammered. "She's screaming again?"
"So?" Snow hissed.
"With her magic if she keeps going she'll crumble the tower to dust…and more importantly she'll break free." The knight said quickly, worried about the Queen's reaction. He flinched when he saw the Queen's lip curl into a snarl.
"Fine. I'll silence the brat." She growled. She turned to the silent David by her side. Since Snow had his heart he couldn't speak unless spoken to. "You are in charge until I get back with dealing with our daughter. You're far too soft on her even without a heart." Snow commented. David nodded, but felt deep sorrow for his daughter. He half-agreed that she had to be contained for everyone's safety but he wished it didn't have to be like this.
With her final instructions given Snow disappeared in a cloud of purple smoke. She reappeared at the top of the tower where Emma was held. Her powers were too great to be controlled, and with her powers Snow couldn't simply take her heart and control her that way like she did with most people. So Snow had arranged four years ago on her daughter's sixteenth birthday for Emma to be locked in a tower with a magical shield keeping her inside. However a couple of weeks ago she had managed to escape by working out the tower wasn't guarded and she could escape through the window by conjuring a rope. Snow's guards found her three days later and when Emma was forced back into the tower she was chained down with magic deactivating cuffs.
"Would you shut up?!" Snow bellowed. Hearing her so called mother's voice caused Emma to silence herself immediately. She learned long ago it was easier to do as she said. "There, that's better. Don't start it again or there will be consequences."
"Let. Me. Go." Emma snarled. "I am not a prisoner, I have done nothing wrong!" Snow moved round the cold, dank tower to stand face to face with her daughter.
"You know why you must be kept here." Snow said coolly. "You will not do as you are told. You got out of here for three days and you were nearly on your back for some sailor. Do you think I want any bastard sea faring grandchildren? No, until you can control yourself and listen to me you will remain here." Snow went to leave, and Emma panicked.
"Please!" She begged. "Don't go! I- I'll do it. I'll listen to you. I'll do everything that you say." Snow stopped and turned back to her daughter, a wicked smile on her face. She took Emma's chin in her hand and harshly tilted it so they made eye contact.
"I have your precious father's heart. Remember that if you lie to me I can crush it in an instant." Emma gulped, knowing her mother was deadly serious.
"I'm not lying." She whimpered. "I'll listen." Snow gave a softer smile and removed Emma's magical cuffs. She slowly pulled Emma into a hug. At first Emma stiffened. Ever since she was a child her mother had used affection as a weapon, to manipulate her. Emma only ever got any for doing exactly as she was told, and was never allowed to instigate it. It was not love and Emma was well aware of it. But still, there had been no physical contact for Emma in weeks. It was nice just to have some.
"That's a good girl." Snow cooed. "Now, I've removed the cuffs but you still need to prove that you can be trusted so you will remain here until I say otherwise. But it's been a long time since this ratty mane has been cared for." With a flick of her wrist a bucket of warm soapy water and a brush appeared. Snow moved back behind Emma and again used affection as a weapon by caring for Emma's hair. Emma half wanted to pull away, knowing this was a trick to make her do whatever her mother told her…but she wasn't strong enough. Here she was, the happy loser.
