Traffick911

EmmaAthena2013 asked for a oneshot of Emma being sent a letter by a friend who works for Traffick911 who wants to do a presentation in Storybrooke to create more awareness for domestic minor trafficking. After the presentation Snowing ask Emma why she got so emotional and she tells them she almost got trafficked whilst in foster care.

Noel: I don't think I'd know how to do a sequel to 493, sorry!

Finally got to see the finale! Thanks for those who remembered to put a spoiler warning before any spoiler requests, it was much appreciated :).

"I'm telling you this is more than just being emotional over either the subject or seeing an old friend." Snow whispered in a hushed tone to Charming. "There's something deeper going on there."

"I know what you mean." Charming whispered back as Emma's friend Rachel finished off her talk on minor trafficking. Emma looked like she was trying hard not to cry. Her eyes were glistening and she was biting down hard on her lower lip. "Have you noticed that her friend looks a good twenty to thirty years older?" Charming added. Snow nodded, she had indeed noticed that.

Snow and Charming gave Emma some time with Rachel before getting her privately in a side room of the town hall (where the presentation had taken place).

"So, how did you meet Rachel?" Snow asked. Emma looked down, she had known this would come.

"Rachel and I met after I had a particularly bad foster placement- the Moore family." Emma explained. "Rachel was involved in Traffick911 back then too, and she helped make sure my social worker took me out before I was gone for good." Snow and Charming felt like they'd been hit with a ton of bricks. Emma had nearly been trafficked.

"How close were they?" Charming croaked. Emma shrugged.

"I was still fairly little at the time so I don't know all the ins and outs. All I know is that Rachel stopped it from happening and kept in contact whenever I had any questions or worries."

"We need to find some way to thank her." Snow said quickly. "We can't ever really thank her enough, but we need to try. She saved you, Emma. She saved you when we weren't there."

"She doesn't know that you're my parents, remember? You're just friends to her. You can't get all mushy with her."

"Doesn't mean we can't with you." Charming said before pulling Emma into a bone crushing hug. He was shaking slightly, the fear of what could have been near consuming him. But neither he nor Snow could dwell on "what ifs"- not when they had the chance of such a bright future with their daughter ahead of them.
