Fire
Justices asked for a oneshot of Neal saving people from a fire and waking up in hospital frightened of all the beeping machines.
Pain. So much pain. I couldn't even open my eyes, they were all dry and crusty, like they might be if you woke up in the morning and had a horrible cold. But I didn't have a cold- I was painful and tight all over. I could hear several beeps, and the more anxious I got, the louder the machines became.
"Snow he's awake." I heard my dad's relieved tone. Next thing I heard was a lighter set of footsteps (my mom's) joining him beside the bed. Slowly, I was realised where I was and I. I was in hospital. There had been a fire at school and I knew there were some kids trapped inside the gym hall. I couldn't be safe outside knowing they would burn to death. I dodged past the firefighters and back into the building. The last thing I remember is unblocking the door so they could get out.
"You've been so brave champ." My dad said quietly. "Because of you everyone made it out alive." I heard the machines quieten slightly. I had relaxed knowing people were safe.
"Now you need to focus on you buddy." My mom said. "It's going to take time but you'll get there. Sleep, son." I could already feel myself beginning to go back under. Knowing that I had been successful in saving the others, I allowed myself to sleep.
