Surprisingly charming

A guest asked for a oneshot of Charming being sweet with Emma when she's having a bad day trying to cheer her up.

"Here you go princess." Charming said, giving her a plate at her desk. "Foot long meatball marinara with sweet chilli sauce, toasted with cheese a packet of salt and vinegar crisps and a triple chocolate chip cookie. To top it all off a nice Thai tea. With three sugars- sweet for my sweetie." Emma gave her dad a quizzical look and all she got in return was his extra charming grin.

"What's going on?" Emma asked. "Why are you being so nice today?"

"Do I need a reason to be nice to my only daughter?" Emma didn't even answer. "Alright- you got me- there is a reason. You seemed awful down this morning so I thought some lunch would cheer you up, that's all." Charming admitted. Emma smiled up at him, tears threatening to spill out of her eyes. How had he noticed? He had just been so kind.

"Aww dad." Emma said, clearly touched. "You didn't have to. I'm alright, honest. It's just that it's been a year since Ingrid died and now that I have all my memories of her…well I remember how loved I felt." Charming placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"It's ok, I understand." He said. "You eat that sandwich and head on home. No arguments- I'll handle the station for the rest of the day." Without warning Emma got up and launched herself into her dad's arms. Charming was taken by surprise, but quickly returned the hug. He would do anything to make his girl happy when she was sad.
