"See? We didn't get caught." I tease her.
"Don't think for a second that this is going to be a regular thing, Seaweed Brain." She laughs. "Today Only."
"I can live with that." I smile and sit up. "I'm going to go get ready. And then get some burgers. You should too."
"Get cheeseburgers?" I roll my eyes.
"Get ready. But I'll get you a Cheeseburger if you want." I tell her and lean forward to kiss her gently. "I'll see you when you're walking down the aisle."
…
I twirl riptide in my hands while I wait at the altar the same way I did at our first wedding, stomach still knotted. I don't know why, just like before we're already married and it's not like she can or would back out now. I guess it's more excitement than anything else. Jason stands at my side softly smiling to himself.
"What?"
"Nothing. Just…I wasn't sure if I was ever going to see you and Annabeth together again. I'm just really glad to be here."
"Yeah? Me too."
"Me too." Coven laughs on my other side. "You would not believe how often Lassa complained about this whole situation over the last three years. I thought it would never end." He laughs, then looks at me more seriously. "She really loves you, Percy."
"I know." I say, although I don't know if he's talking about Lassa or Annabeth when he said that. In the two front pews I see my mom, Paul, Annabeth's stepmom and half brothers, Reyna, Malcolm, Maryanne, Max and Ella Claire are all sitting there. And Jesse, Lassa, and her family, of course. There's also one girl standing off to the side that I only met a couple minutes before the ceremony who introduced herself as Violet who's going to play the violin as Annabeth walks down the aisle. Another cousin of Lassa's. Apparently her mom's family is pretty big. I look at my watch and right on time I hear Violet start playing and see Luke and Estelle holding hands and running down the aisle, Estelle periodically remembering to throw flower petals down. Piper shakes her head in a laugh and walks down behind them, and once she's situated at the altar the music slows, Everyone stands, and Annabeth and her father start walking down. I smile and my heart beats just as fast as it did last time. She may not have Aphrodite's blessing this time around but it doesn't matter, she's more beautiful than she ever was. I can see her smile and blush under the thin fabric of her veil. I look at the pew we had sex on a few hours ago and smile all the wider. When they get to the front of the aisle, Her dad lifts her veil, kisses her cheek, shakes my hand and sits down. We talked about him giving her away for tradition's sake, but in the end we all agreed she wasn't his to give away anymore. She's already mine. Annabeth takes both my hands and Coven starts to speak.
"Thank you everyone for coming today. We're here to reaffirm the love and vows between Percy and Annabeth, and have them make new vows in front of the Lord God. I understand this is a long time coming and that Maya has made lunch for us all, so I'll make it quick." He says, raising a bit of laughter from everyone. "Marriage is a gift from God. It's the most precious thing he's given us other than his son. And it's truly a blessing to see these two come together in matrimony once again. Percy, will you please repeat after me: I, Perseus Achilles, before God and all the witnesses here," He starts, and I hold Annabeth's hands a little tighter.
"I, Perseus Achilles, Before God and all the witnesses here,"
"Do take thee Anna Elizabeth,"
"Do take thee Anna Elizabeth,"
"To be my lawfully wedded wife."
"To be my lawfully wedded wife."
"To have and to hold from this day forward,"
"To have and to hold from this day forward,"
"For better or for worse,"
"For better or for worse,"
"For richer or poorer,"
"For richer or poorer,"
"In sickness and in health,"
"In sickness and in health,"
"To love her, honor her, cherish her, and be faithful to her,"
"To love her, honor her, cherish her, and be faithful to her,"
"For as long as we both shall live."
"For as long as we both shall live."
"Your turn, Annabeth." He winks at her. "I, Anna Elizabeth, before God and all the witnesses here,"
"I, Anna Elizabeth, before God and all the witnesses here,"
"Do Take thee Perseus Achilles,"
"Do Take Thee Perseus Achilles,"
"To be my lawfully wedded husband."
"To be my lawfully wedded husband."
"To have and to hold from this day forward,"
"To have and to hold from this day forward,"
"For better or worse,"
"For better or worse,"
"For richer or poorer,"
"For Richer or Poorer,"
"In sickness and in health,"
"In sickness and in health,"
"To love him, honor him, cherish him, submit to him and be faithful to him,"
"To love him, honor him, cherish him, submit to him and be faithful to him,"
"As long as we both shall live."
"As long as we both shall live."
"Time for the rings." Coven says and Jason takes them out of his pocket and hands them to us. I smile and slide Annabeth's band then the engagement ring on her finger.
"With this ring, I thee wedd, and with all my earthly deeds I thee endow." I tell her. Her gray eyes get excited and misty. She slips my ring on.
"With this ring, I thee wed, and with all my earthly deeds I thee endow."
"Percy, before God and all these witnesses, do you swear to keep and uphold all the vows you just made?"
"I do." I smile.
"Annabeth?"
"I do."
"Then I'm glad to pronounce you husband and wife again! You can kiss your bride, Percy." He tells me. I remember how I kissed her at our last wedding, and it was so perfect I decide to do it that way again. Quickly but firmly I cup my right hand behind her head and pull her mouth firmly against mine, my left hand going on her waist. She deepens the kiss, and after what's a little longer than an acceptable time, I make myself pull back and watch her lightly pant for breath. Our family and friends are cheering, and Violet plays her violin again as we walk back down the aisle together.
