The importance of time- part 2
Many people asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch690 "The importance of time". As I had a multitude of suggestions for how to go about a sequel I will just go with my own idea to avoid any accusations of favouritism :)
SassieSara Hail: I feel bad, you're going through a bit of a spell of requesting things that are too closely done! Do you remember a while ago I wrote a oneshot of Neal getting hurt getting in the way of a fight between his mom and Regina during the curse of shattered sight? I'm afraid your request is too similar to that :/.
Guest who asked for Henry telling Emma he hates her: this has also been too closely covered.
Guest who asked for Emma getting mad: you requested that on a chapter of Emma getting mad haha.
Guest who asked for preteen Emma running away: also been covered.
CaptainSwanFan: As I never accepted the request from EmmaLove it would be unfair to accept it in another form from someone else :)
Four very slow hours past and still Emma did not return home. The weather had turned nasty about half an hour ago. The wind had picked up and icy cold rain pelted down from the sky pounding off the street. The only reason Charming and Snow did not go after Emma as soon as they saw the stormy weather picking up was that her bug was missing from the driveway. At least she was covered from the harsh weather…or was she? Charming suddenly stopped pacing in the living room and stood completely still- a look of total horror on his face.
"What is it?" Snow asked, panicking. Charming did not answer- he couldn't speak. "Charming what's wrong?!" Snow yelled, frightened. Charming turned and looked at his wife, face pale and drawn.
"Emma put her car into the garage yesterday for sticky steering- remember?" He croaked. Snow's eyes widened in equal horror. Yes- she did remember now. Charming quickly grabbed a jacket and his own car keys.
"Stay here with Neal. I'll go out and find her…" But before he could so much as leave the room the parents heard the front door open. They rushed out into the hall to see a sopping wet Emma.
"Oh my gosh Emma." Snow said, not even caring that judging by the cold look Emma had just given them she was still mad. She pulled Emma into a bone crushing hug. "We've been worried sick! Oh Emma you're freezing. Charming please go get a bath started for her…"
"I can take care of my damn self." Emma said through gritted teeth, forcing her mother off her. But Snow and Charming were not letting this one go.
"We're well aware of that Emma but that doesn't mean we can't take care of you." Charming said, going to get the bath started. Snow took Emma's hand and steered her into the living room. She grabbed a blanket from the cupboard and wrapped it around Emma's shoulders.
"Don't ever do that to us again." Snow told Emma off. "I don't care how mad at us you are, don't ever do that again! Emma we were so scared when we realised you didn't even have your car. You could have been lying somewhere dying of pneumonia and we wouldn't have been able to do anything! Emma I know you seem to think that we don't care about you but Emma that couldn't be further from the truth. Emma we love you and your brother to death. We would do anything for either of you- anything. Emma didn't answer, she just looked up at her mom, shivering. Charming came down a few moments later.
"Bath's ready." He announced. He kissed the top of Emma's wet, freezing, head. "Emma Ruth never again run away like that. I don't give a damn that you're an adult- I will ground you for life! We were terrified you were in trouble. We could not cope if we lost you again." Something about the statement hit home to Emma. She burst into tears and quickly found herself in an embrace with both her parents.
"It's alright." Snow said soothingly. "You're safe, you're home." Emma rested her head against her mother's shoulder. She knew she was home- but Emma knew it was going to take time before she felt it again. But with her parents' strength behind her, she would get there.
