Disappointment

LyssLovesShules33 asked for a oneshot of Snow visiting Emma in prison after Neal set her up. Emma is embarrassed to tell her about the baby but Snow is supportive due to her bandit lifestyle.

SassieSara Hail and Izzyed: I'm afraid I don't think I could write that.

Blue365: I'm afraid your request has already been covered.

Emma sat opposite her mother, chewing nervously on her lip and her fingers drumming against the small plastic table between them.

"Come on Em, spit it out." Snow said. "We don't have long, honey. If there's something you think is important you tell me face to face this will be your only chance until Thursday." Snow reminded her. Emma took a deep breath, she knew her mom was right. But that didn't stop her feeling ashamed.

"I know that I've already let you down by being in here in the first place." Emma said quietly. "And I wish that was all there was to this- but it's not." Emma looked up at her mom, teary eyed. "I'm pregnant." She admitted. Snow gasped in shock, she hadn't been expecting that. Emma looked back down at the table. "I'm sorry, you deserved a much better daughter than a knocked up teen felon." Emma sniffed. Snow desperately wished she could just take Emma into her arms, but knew the rules meant she couldn't.

"Emma look at me." Snow said calmly. She waited until Emma did as she was told. "I could not ask for a better daughter than you. Yes, you've made mistakes, but who hasn't? Emma you know my story. I know you choose not to believe it, but humour me for a minute. I spent a lot of my adult life on the run from the law before I met your father and had you. I know you got screwed over just like I did. I know our pregnancy situations are different because you were very much planned and maybe this baby wasn't, but that doesn't mean you won't love them with all of your heart. Whatever the situation this baby is part of our family now. Everything is going to be alright Emma-"

"Time's up." A guard's cold voice rang through the hall. "Say goodbye. One hug and one only." Snow stood up and finally was able to pull Emma into her arms.

"What if I can't do this mama?" Emma whimpered.

"You can Emma." Snow said, hoping she could transfer some strength over to her daughter. "You need to sweetheart, for your baby. And I am going to be here for you all the way, alright? Now I need to go now, I don't want to either, but I am always with you in your heart. Call me tomorrow, remember that I love you." Snow finished quickly as a guard ushered her out of the door, leaving Emma standing barely holding it together.
