Hydration

Snowing-fever asked for a oneshot of Emma passing out from heat exhaustion. Charming carries her home lecturing her about drinking more water and taking better care of herself.

"You alright there, Emma?" Charming asked as he and Emma trudged through town trying to find the dog that had escaped the shelter. Storybrooke was experiencing a bit of an Indian summer and despite it being September it was so hot you could almost fry an egg on the pavement. "You're looking awful flushed."

"Fine." Emma grunted in reply, she didn't want to waste any of her energy on talking. She'd left her water bottle back at the station that morning and didn't want to take any from her dad with it being such a scorching hot day. She was working hard to hide it all from her dad. She wanted to find this dog before it died of dehydration. But now there were black spot appearing in front of her eyes, and it was getting harder and harder to shake them away…until they didn't go away. Emma had just a moment to panic before she found herself on the floor, only faintly hearing her dad yelling out her name.

The next thing Emma was aware of she was being carried somewhere. She opened her eyes to find her dad carrying her.

"I can walk." She croaked. "Put me down now."

"Oh heck no." Charming said. "Emma Swan you're in for one massive lecture. When you fainted I looked in your bag for your water bottle and couldn't find it. Emma we've been out for hours now in this heat and you haven't had a single sip of water. Do you know how dangerous that is? Emma you could have ended up in hospital? Why didn't you take some of mine if you didn't have yours?"

"Because you needed water too. Besides, I was more concerned about the dog who's got a great big fur coat on in this heat and needs water more than me so put me down so we can go look for him."

"Not a chance, Emma. Red is looking for the dog and she'll probably have more luck than us anyway. You're going straight back to the house to enjoy a lot of water and air conditioning. Then once you're better a proper lecture on why we need to keep ourselves hydrated in this weather."

"Whatever." Emma grumbled, just grateful for the release from the heat under her dad's shadow.
