Holiday

FictionLover12 asked for a oneshot of The Charming family take a summer vacation but it has to be cut short when they are called from Storybrooke with an emergency.

"Ok, Emma stand closer to your father so I can get everyone in the shot!" Snow said excitedly, holding her camera at just the right angle. "Do you think I could get someone to take a picture of all of us?..."

"No!" Emma called out quickly before her mom did something she'd regret. "Mom this is New York, not Storybrooke. You give that camera to someone I'd say there's about a four in five chance you ain't getting it back. Invest in a smartphone and a selfie stick. Maybe in a quieter State like Kansas or something, but definitely not here. Emma frequently found herself telling her parents about life outside of Storybrooke during their massive summer vacation trip round the USA. Snow particularly had hoped that rather than go round America they'd be able to tour countries in either Asia or Europe but with the whole not actually being from this world thing it was just too complicated. She was happy for Emma to give them a whistle stop tour of all the States. They had barely put a dent in it thought. They'd skipped past Maine (as they were technically from there) and had so far been through New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. After New York they were heading briefly to Pennsylvania. Snow and Charming were loving the chance to explore the world they'd been boxed in for so long.

Snow just got a chance to take her picture before Emma's phone rang.

"Hello? Yeah Red we're in Times Square just now." Emma sighed. "What? Do we have to? Can't you handle it without us?...No, I understand. We'll be home ASAP." Emma hung up and gave her family a disappointed look. "Sorry guys, looks like our trip's been cut short. Red said they've had some sort of magical flu epidemic. It's affecting those without magic as well so we need to rush home and help them find a cure quickly before it gets even more serious."

Snow, Charming and Henry all nodded grimly. They understood, but for once they wished they could just do a normal family activity without magic interfering.
