Cursed again
Jade Star asked for a oneshot of Snowing returning from a year in Boston after Zelena cast a curse that made everyone forget their true selves (as they share a heart they were unaffected). The first person they meet upon their return is Henry, who is now 24. He is a drug addict and a thief who holds them up at gunpoint for their money. So I've written this as though there was never a baby Neal to make it a little easier :).
"Ready?" Charming asked, reaching out for his wife's hand. Snow gave a steady nod and took his outstretched hand.
"Ready." She responded. Then together, they stepped over the town line, into the unknown. It had been a year since Zelena's curse had taken effect. A year since their loved ones had convinced them they had to leave since they were the only ones who could. A year since they'd left their daughter and grandson to the Wicked Witch's mercy. Now they had come home, now they were strong enough to stop her.
But the couple were barely a step into the town when they heard a gun cock beside them.
"Alright, just gimme the handbag and anything valuable you have on you dude and nobody gets hurt." Snow and Charming's hearts sank, they would recognise their grandson's voice anywhere. They both raised their hands in the air and slowly turned to face him. Both gasped in shock, a year under Zelena's curse had not done Henry well. He was a strong young man of twenty three when they had left, beginning to make a life for himself. Now here he was, looking older than they did. His hair was receding quickly. His skin was yellowing and drawn. He had withered away to skin and bones. His clothes were filthy and hung off him like rags. Under the illumination of the streetlights they could see the marks running up and down his arms. Those little puncture wounds that only meant one thing…and their heart broke for him. What was worse? He clearly had no idea who they were. Zelena had clearly stripped everyone of their memories and given them new identities.
"Henry I can't give you my bag." Snow said sadly. "Not when I know what you're going to use the money for."
"How do you know my name, old lady?" Henry questioned harshly.
"I…I've just seen you around." Snow lied, knowing the truth would be of no use right now.
"Well whatever, it's none of your damn business what I use it on. Besides, are you really in a position to argue?" He asked, eyes flashing to the gun. "Now I ask one more time: bag and valuables- now!" He ordered.
"I really didn't want to do this." Charming sighed. He acted like he was handing Henry his wallet, but when Henry went to take it Charming walloped him on the head so that he passed out. He then quickly took the gun from him and searched his pockets for any needles or suspicious looking baggies.
"We need to fix this Charming." Snow said, looking down at her broken grandson. "And fast."
"Don't worry Snow, we will." He promised her. He would not let his grandson remain in this state. Zelena was going down.
