Orphan- part 2

dancefan93 asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch679 "Orphan" where Charming talks to Emma about how she got the map to work and makes sure she knows she isn't an orphan anymore.

Emma looked up when she heard the leaves rustling around her. She found her dad standing there, smiling awkwardly at her.

"So…I spoke to your mom…" Emma rolled her eyes and looked away from him, was nothing private anymore? "Don't be mad at her." He said, sitting down on the log beside Emma. "She just cares about you, and so do I…Emma, you know that Pan was just using that map to get inside your head, right? It may have been true in the past, but you are no longer an orphan." Charming tried to get through to her. But then he got too cocky and reached out to squeeze her shoulder. Emma flinched and pulled her arm back.

"Listen, I know you're trying to help and everything, but I am an orphan. We've not exactly got the whole parent and child relationship thing going on have we? I think all three of us need to accept that train left the station a long time ago." Emma said with a sad sigh. Charming desperately wanted to pull Emma over and just tell her how wrong she was, but he didn't want to overstep her boundaries whilst she was so defensive.

"I can respect that being how you feel right now, but Emma I need you to know I won't rest until I've convinced you otherwise." He told her. "You are not an orphan anymore. You have two parents who love you more than anything- and one day you'll realise that we're telling the truth." Emma didn't respond to her dad, and Charming decided it was best to leave her to her thoughts. He got up from the log and went to the other side of the camp, allowing her some space.
