Just a little needle- part 2

hailsara1973 asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch697 where Emma hasn't told Hook and they're alone with Neal. Her blood sugar level goes too low and Neal has to help her.

"Are you sure you're alright love?" Hook asked, catching Emma as she swayed for the third time that night. "You don't seem to be. I know you had that bout of illness a few days ago, but you seemed to be over that. Do we need to get you back to the hospital? Should I call your parents to collect the lad?"

"No I'm fine." Emma insisted, shoving him off and balancing herself by clinging onto the couch. "I just need to go for a lie down." But Neal began to put the symptoms together. The dizziness, the way Emma was sweating profusely and how weak and tired she was- Emma was going into a hypo.

"Don't go to sleep Emma!" Neal suddenly shouted. He rushed up to Emma's bedroom and came down with her blood testing kit. He pushed her finger onto the little needle and squeezed a drop of her blood onto the machine, waiting for it to beep.

"What's going on?" Hook asked. "Neal, don't hurt your sister like that!"

"I'm not hurting her." Neal insisted. "I'm helping save her. Emma has diabetes like me, remember my parents told you about my condition?" Hook nodded.

"Sorry, I may have forgotten to mention that." Emma mumbled as her blood sugar level flashed up on the screen: 68 mg/dL.

"Killian, help her sit on the couch but don't let her fall asleep." Neal instructed before rushing to the kitchen. Hook did as the boy told him before he flew back into the room with a bottle of Lucozade and some custard creams. Emma took the sugary snacks gratefully. She ruffled her brother's hair.

"You're my little hero buddy." She said. "I'm super proud of you." Neal grinned.

"It's just what our family does."
