Cranky- part 2
A guest asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch629 "Cranky" where Emma is still cranky after her nap and mama Snow has to figure out what to do to help her daughter (with the preference for it to be snuggling).
Snow was going to throttle her daughter. After a two hour nap she was just as cranky as she was beforehand. Emma blamed Snow for waking her up, but Snow couldn't let her sleep any longer otherwise she'd never break the cycle and her sleep pattern would be ruined. She had tried to keep Emma busy to keep her active and alert so she wouldn't fall asleep, but all she was doing was whinging and complaining. Snow loved her daughter dearly, but she didn't like her very much right now. Snow decided she was thinking the wrong way. What did she do when Neal was acting up because he was overtired? She cuddled with him. He always settled down quickly that way. Maybe Emma needed the same kind of treatment. Her quilt was still on the couch from Emma's earlier nap, so they could snuggle up together and watch some TV.
"Right I'm done polishing everything." Emma grumbled, coming into the living room. "What slave labour task do you wish me to perform next on my day off?"
"Ah, perfect timing my little ray of sunshine. I was actually about to call you through for a break. There's an episode of Agents of SHIELD about to start, what do you say we watch it together?" Emma shrugged, couldn't see a reason why not. Snow smiled warmly, pulling Emma over to the couch and throwing the quilt over both of them. Snow scooted closer to Emma and pulled Emma's head down onto her shoulder.
"Um, hi there?" Emma said, unsure what her mom was doing.
"What? A mother can't cuddle her daughter? Just humour me, would you?" Snow asked. Emma sighed, but didn't fight it, she was too tired. Snow smiled smugly, she had been right. She could feel Emma relaxing against her. Sometimes all a child need is a parent's embrace.
