Full moon
Jade Star asked for a oneshot of Red accidentally biting Emma and Snow staying with her during her first transformation.
"You should go." Emma croaked, her skin pale and clammy. "We don't know how this is going to go." Snow took Emma's hand.
"I didn't leave Red and I won't leave you. Besides, Red's been training you. You know what to do. Remember I have Red's cloak so if anything does go wrong, I can just cover you with that. You're going to be fine-"
"You don't know that!" Emma screamed. "Don't you get it?! I could seriously hurt you. I could kill you! I could leave Neal motherless all because you're being stubborn…" Snow took Emma into her arms.
"Neal isn't my only child." She pointed out. "And tonight you need me. Emma, neither of us is going to get hurt, and I won't leave you. Snow slightly rocked with Emma, as she always did when she sensed Emma needed comfort. For all she'd missed out on Emma's childhood and couldn't read her cues as clearly as she could read Neal's- there was definitely some lingering maternal instinct. Emma gently pushed Snow off of her.
"We don't have much time." She sighed. "If you insist on staying in this room would you at least stay in the opposite corner?" Snow humoured her, but knew there was nothing to fear. Even if there was, she would never leave her daughter alone when she was scared. Never again.
