LW: Hi everyone, time for something surprising… a chapter actually based on One Piece content! I know, but shocker. Regardless, this chapter is inspired/based on the 6th One Piece movie.

"Azulong" Henry sighs, not even looking up from the map or Eternal pose to Omatsuri island
"Hey, that wasn't me, I've actually managed to get a decent handle over my Devil fru… AHCHOOO!"
ZAP
"Not a word" she growls, when she sees the blood man quirk his lips "Anyway, allergies aside, I think it was the kid, something that news coo delivered must have pissed him off"
Now curious the blond moves to check on the lanky purplette with Azulng following, both find Kaos scowling darkly at the paper, but more so the bounty posters that dropped out of said paper
"Finally got an update then? Or news on Blackbeard?" Henry asks, getting the poster pushed toward them as black veins pulse in the youngest's near-translucent skin
"Damn kid over 400 million in less than 2 years, you straw hats really are super rookies" Azulong cackles from ver Henry's shoulder
"And the World Government seems to at least be consistent bastards, given being Newgate's son is on the list of crimes, right above… I still can't believe that bullshit excuse worked" Henry sighs deeply
"I know right? It's not like they saw him bend her over a cannon and fuck her, guess they really don't want their warlords to look bad, and so the big mean pirate assaulted her, rather than she got horny and jumped the lad" Azulong grins "What was the story again, I tried to seduce him, but he was too big, sexy and manly and I was overwhelmed?" she coos, clutching at her heart, but more so just groping herself as she croons, neither male sure if it was part of her roleplay as Hancock or just the lightning lass being a dumbass, with Azulong it really could go either way
"If we're getting technical, she came onto me and was direct and forceful enough that had I not reciprocated, she'd actually be the one with rape allegations, not me" Kaos muses idly, pinching the bridge of his nose
"Anyway, less complaining about government idiocy, we have a job to do and an island to explore" Henry says, trying to avoid any more tangents, or his current companions doing something stupid, especially because just like he said, the island WAS in sight.
"5 minutes in, and I already hate this place, why make a vacation and festival island… and then put the settlement on the other side of a thick forest? Did nobody want to go to the beach when this settlement was created?" Azulong whines, using her whips like machetes to cut her way through the dense jungle, Henry watching with mild amusement while Kaos was testing his observation haki, attempting to find people before the head of the line did. It wasn't going well.
"And, we're here" Henry announces as the archway comes into view "Let's see what we have to work with this time" he muses as the locals begin to notice them, and begin what they presume is a welcoming routine, though all 3 of them think dancing girls would have made more sense, partly because the dresses and tights look uncomfortable on the men wearing them. Not that it mattered too much as the dancers and random people with plants on their heads were interrupted by the elephant entering the area, being ridden by a man with hair like a palm tree, as well as a refined mustache and thick beard and a smiley flower on his left shoulder.
"Welcome Pirates to my island, I am your host: Baron Omatsuri!"
SLAP
Azulong and Kaos both turn to Henry who had face palmed loud enough even the Baron stopped his speech
"Well, I feel borderline retarded. Hey Omatsuri, what's it been 27 years, give or take a few months?" he greets with a wave, the Baron blinks then laughs
"To see familiar faces after so long. I will be down momentarily" the man states before gracefully maneuvering himself down the elephant to the visiting trio "It has been much too long Henry, though your crew is much smaller than I remember, Apophis no longer with us?"
The blond smirks "Nah, got himself killed a few years after we last met up. Much like you though, we're out of the pirate business, the Demon Eye became Grand Line Mercenaries and intermediaries. As for the small size… well with an Eternal pose and New World experience, you only need like 3 people to run a ship, and it helps the new blood to stretch his legs" he replies, gesturing to Kaos with his horn-like hair
"So many people, yet so quiet" the young man mutters, fingers twitching erratically, Azulong looked on in concern
"New blood indeed, he one of yours?" Omatsuri asks with a chuckle, while the flower tilts its head to face him
"He was hand-picked by Grima, but no, he's on loan from the Straw Hat pirates, and the culmination of Newgate and Medusa's bloodlines" Henry replies, missing how the Baron pales as he turns to ensure Azulong hadn't caused an incident already, thankfully she hadn't besides being worryingly close to the elephant "So this is a festival island on the GrandLine? Quite impressive not gonna lie, but I bet there's more than just relaxation and food" he smirks, side-eyeing the former pirate
Omatsuri chuckles "You know me too well. There is a test of strength, loyalty and trust I call the 'Trials of Hell!' if you'd be interested in participating"
"I'll check with the others, could be fun, or they might just want to check the place out" he bows his head before walking over to the rest of the group "I presume neither of you want to partake in the island challenges, given the actual reason we're here?" Henry asks getting a shake of the head from both of them "Didn't think so. Check the place out, see what doesn't quite fit, and try not to do anything stupid"
"No promises" Kaos hums as he slinks off, Azulong grins as she sidesteps toward the team leader
"I get the feeling you're going to keep the fact Omatsuri being alive a secret from the others" Azulong muses idly
"Yes. Because I want to avoid this investigation turning into an assassination mission" he sighs, both knowing Apep kept grudges and would use them as proxies if able.
"Gororororo, good luck with that. Depending on what's actually on this island, you know one of us is probably going to have to torch the place" Azulong grins maniacally, before heading into town in a blitz of lighting
"Children" Henry groans as he facepalms "I'm surrounded by children. Fuck it I need a drink"
"This place is a lot bigger than I expected" Kaos mutters to himself, searching for the one thing that pinged his senses, which was a big deal given everyone and everything else felt off, or maybe hollow was a more accurate description. Still, that mental numbness was probably why he didn't find the prescience until he walked right into them
"Ahhh!"
'The fuck?' Kaos blinks as the man in front of him screams, then lunges at him "What's the big idea you coot?"
"Die you accursed minion of Omatsuri! Die to the Captain of the Tea Room pirates!" the strange man shouts
"You can do it, Papa"
"He's going to die"
"Run away!"
Kaos blinks slowly "This, is just weird" he mutters before catching the man's fist then is surprised by the next thing to come out of his mouth
"Play along, please," the man asks, more like begs "I need this, you seem like a reasonable guy, please at least pretend to let me take you down in front of my kids"
"Your kids really believe you can fight someone with a 400 million beri bounty?" Kaos asks in a deadpan
"400 MILLION!" the man screams before he could stop himself
"Be careful Papa!"
"Yeah, he's screwed"
"Listen, you look like you've been here a while, so how about you stop looking like an idiot, and in exchange for not knocking you out, you tell me everything you know about the island" Kaos offers, a little annoyed by this flailing man
"Take the deal!"
"Papa can win"
"Purple man is scary"
One thing the Goro Goro no mi did was up her Observation haki to stupid levels, or at least her detection/sensing range, which meant Azulong knew they were being watched the moment they entered the town…. And she wanted to know who by. Which was why she as usual decided to forgo subtlety and just drop from the sky and slam her whips into the nearest wall "I know you're there, you can come out and talk, or die if you're a threat" the woman says with a rye smile, more curious than murderous at the moment, she was going to win that bet if it maimed someone.
"Wait don't kill me!" a man screams as he falls out of the doorway in front of her "I should have been more direct, and I apologize. I am Brief, Captain of the Toothbrush mustache pirates, and current leader of the rebellion against Baron Omatsuri's tyranny of the island"
"Toothbrush mustache. You know what never mind, Azulong of the Demon Eye…" she begins to introduce herself when she's interrupted
"DEMON EYE! You're still around? Oh what joy, are Apophis and Grima still running the ship, did she finally confess to him?" Brief asks with sparkling eyes
"Yes we're still around, though we're actually mercenaries rather than pirates these days…. And Apophis is dead, Grima runs the place now. No kids either so that probably answers your question" Azulong answers with a half smile "You mentioned a rebellion and tyranny. Guess we didn't show up to this place for nothing, there actually IS a case to handle and a bad guy to kill"
"Yes, that is the main point of my plans, though weren't there 3 of you? Anyway a word of advice, the Baron is adept at separating nakama, and then breaking the bonds between you. So don't fall for his tricks and keep your friends close" Brief advises
"So, don't split up? Bit late for that" Azulong sighs "Anyway, lead on oh wise rebellion general" she continues teasingly, laughing as the flustered man scurries away, following behind him at a brisk pace
"You know, here I thought this was going to be a dull little trip" Henry muses as he sips his wine "And yet I just get here and I managed to find Yammy the Brute and Borris the Animal Chichichi" he grins at the men in front of him, one a heavyset man with a well-defined chin and head ridges the blond assumed were a sign of some injury, and the latter a spindly, older gentleman with what looked like welders glasses covering what the merc new were cataract blinded eyes. What was different about both of them was the plant sticking out of the top of both their heads, like everyone except Omatsuri it seemed
"Wajajajaja, yeah this place is great, it's a place for pirates to have fun and wreck shit, of course, I'm here" Yammy bellows loudly, before downing a tankard of rum
"Please, it's just Borris, I'm not much of a pirate these days" the older man says with a tired sigh "These days I just help run the island's economy, which in hindsight makes sense for a former treasurer"
"True. Really wish Azulong hadn't been right" Henry sighs, the logia not feeling his hand split open as he forms a scythe blade and removes the man's head "There's something fishy around here and the people are just cheap jokes. No blood or soul in anything" he scowls, melting to dodge a fist thrown by Yammy and slipping away in the commotion, seems nobody ever looks up or down, especially when programming drones.
'That, and I run into 2 men who've been missing for over 15 years, who look exactly the same as their wanted posters from 20 years ago' he thinks, reforming on a rooftop to try to locate the others while avoiding detection 'What is up with this place?'
"See, the so-called Baron is actually a pirate, the Captain of the Red Arrows" Papa explains passing the wanted poster to Kaos, a little bruised but basically fine after his scuffle
"Very strange, but it does explain why Henry recognized him, though there is one problem" Kaos hums "He's grown, gotten older, changed his hairstyle and almost his entire facade, but those guys that were with him" he points to a few others in the photo "Look EXACTLY the same. Despite it being over 25 years since anyone has seen him or the rest of his crew"
"Yes, quite the conundrum" Papa nods while his kids are mostly confused by the overall situation, though did understand that everyone but Omatsuri looks the same in the photo as they do now.
Twang
"Crap" Kaos hisses as he blocks an arrow with Hebi "Guess the quiet part is over then Baron?"
"My 30-year blood feud is coming to an end," Omatsuri says, grinning savagely before nocking another arrow "Die for me, tainted beast!"
"Traptrix: Curtain of Agony" Kaos activates, the razorwire rapier managing to at least put an obstacle between the group and the Baron "Hey Tearooms, he's clearly not targeting you, so my advice…. Is to run, probably in that direction" he states, pointing off to his left "Hopefully if I go in the other direction he'll leave you alone and you might actually surviv…" he gasps as an arrow pierces his chest between his ribs "Shit" he gasps as his 'belt' unravels from his waist, the tip bloating until it forms a spade or heart-shaped tip "Let's see if this helps, Perfume Coccyx" he shouts as it shoots forward, missing Omatsuri but striking one of the odd frog looking creatures behind him, turning it into petrified wood
"Kerojiji!" Omatsuri bellows "My anger continues to boil over child, I will make this hurt for what little time you manage to remain alive" he sneers before drawing his bow and manifesting another arrow
"Yeah… not hanging around for that. Sonido!" Kaos winces before disappearing in a variant of Soru/Gepo he'd picked up from the Demon Eye
Omatsuri scowls as more of his men arrive behind him "No more, find those intruders and KILL THEM ALL!" he bellows, voice becoming duel layered "Everyone dies tonight!"
"Pretty cool base you got" Azulong hums as she sips the tea Brief made for her "So it's just you on this island against the Baron and his army of unkillable demon, things? No wonder you're not doing too well at this rebellion shtick" she chuckles humourlessly then twitches "We're about to receive company"
"What do you mea…" the mustached man begins to ask before a silver, syrupy gloop rushes through the door behind her, quickly reforming into a tired-looking Kaos
"Well, the Baron's pissed off, and really doesn't like me" he sighs deeply "Any news?"
"He has a flower that eats people" Azulong answers
"A Bloodoak?" Kaos hums, eyebrows rising
"Worse apparently, a Lily Carnation"
Papa ran as fast as his legs could carry, well he did in theory, it was slowed in practice due to carrying his youngest in his arms while doing so as she wouldn't have been able to keep pace with the other 3 of them. Though how you outrun a river of blood is something even a seasoned coward like himself could answer… as well as what to do when a scythe was pressed against his throat.
"So, there are others on this island" Henry croons "Still alive, still beating hearts and flushed cheeks. Seems the Baron missed a spot"
"Whoever you are, leave my kids alone!"
Henry blinks, then smiles "There's always something, that we will DIE to protect. I'm glad you know what yours is"
Pura pura pura
"One moment" Henry sighs, before pulling a Baby Den Den from his coat "Yes?"
"You done sightseeing yet? The Baron has realised we're not a pirate crew for him to kill and steal from or whatever so you may want to make yourself scarce soon enough" Azulong relays
" Oh he's doing much more than that, flora homunculi, at the very least"
"And the Lily Carnation at worst"
Henry tenses "If that thing is real, a mystical plant with the power over life and death…. Then yes it really would be the worst-case scenario"
To their right, the cobbles rise and a grinning face peeks out "Then it's a good thing we may just have a plan to deal with them no? Hop in!" Azulong orders, Henry waving off the family before bringing up the rear
Breif's secret base
"Mission report" Henry states
"Baron is feeding people to a monster at the centre of the island" Azulong answers, summarising Breif's story to her as quickly as possible so as not to open old wounds
"He's got a grudge against me apparently, said with my death a 30-year blood feud can end" Kaos adds, wincing as his body heals from the arrow wound
Henry clicks his tongue while the other 2 adult pirates watch nervously "That oddly makes sense, Omatsuri was what you'd call a Roger Era pirate after all, he probably clashed with both of your parents a couple of times over the years, something big enough that he considers it a blood feud could have happened back then" he muses "Anyway, I believe it's finally time to deal with this mess once and for all"
"Are you insane?" Papa asks fearfully "The Baron is a monster, he has an army and that thing on the mountain, is beyond understanding!"
Azulong shrugs "Probably, but that's the Demon Eye way. We deal with shit because we can, and because sometimes it's fun. An army of plant zombies, a mad archer, and a Demon Plant thing? That's a Sunday" she cackles madly, getting an eye-roll from Henry and Kaos, while Brief laughs and moves a bookshelf to reveal a different tunnel
"I recognize that look, you don't back down for anyone. Do you want some assistance? The final reaffirmation of the friendship between the Demon Eye and Toothbrush Mustache pirates"
Azlung chuckles but shakes her head "No, it would be safer for you all to stay a safe distance, we can go all out if there are only the 3 of us against the enemy. But thank you anyway, the thought counts more than you realize" she grins, then with a side glance both Demon Eye pirates perform the TMP greeting, finger under their nose like a little mustache, Kaos chuckling as he copies the gesture, mostly because he sees the effect it has on the older pirate, eyes shimmering with barely held tears
The mountain peak
"So, you've come to me, saves the effort of hunting you 3 down" Omatsuri chuckles as the trio step into the clearing the setting sun casting long shadows but also framing the large, worm-like entity behind the Baron, giving it a halo or corona like edge
"Can't kill you from all the way back at the ship…. Well maybe we could but it's easier this way" Azulong hums as she unfurls her whips, Henry unfolds a proper metal scythe from his jacket and Kaos unleashes Hebi once more in its Traptrix form
"You will feed Lily for many moons, and I will take great pleasure in watching you melt and be consumed boy!" Omatsuri spits before nocking an arrow and firing it directly at the youngest male, only for it to be struck out of the air by Azulong's thunder whips
"The plant is the target, without her Omatsuri's just a mad archer and can be dealt with, relatively easy" Henry smirks, basically ignoring the arrow shooting through his chest "No haki either, meaning the only one who has a reason to worry, is the same one he doesn't want to kill outright"
"Lucky me" Kaos sighs, as the rest of the Baron's men make themselves known
"You can't win -pu. Baron's unbeatable -pu" a weird Kappa-looking boy chants, then pulls a stack of plates from…. Somewhere and starts throwing them
BOOM
"Ok, that seems unfair" Azulong hums as she leaps into the crowd "Exploding plates… also these guys don't seem to go down like normal people" she notes
"Because they're not, they just look like people, it's a shell or an illusion" Henry reminds her as he tosses the Kappa in her direction, the blade cutting through his shirt but leaving his skin pristine
"Oh, so maybe…" she trails off as the boy tries to blow her up at close range, only for her to shift into lightning and appear behind him, both hands around his neck
"Thunder Crash!" she cries as both are struck by a massive bolt, the logia unaffected beside her now glowing steel tips, but the Kappa…. Was smoking and starting to burn up
"DJ Gappa! Damn you, you bitch!" Omatsuri screams as he unleashes a volley at the woman, who smirks before flicking away as electricity
"Blood Prison" Henry scowls as he envelops what he assumes to be the cook of the crew, then with his haki flaring compresses the bubble, crushing the plant zombie before returning the blood to his body and reforming it into blade-tipped tendrils "This, is going to be a long night
"Quatre Vignes: Perfume Cocyx" 5 blade tipped tails slam into some of the Baron's men, collapsing into petrified wood and shattered with a swing of Hebi
"I'm starting to think this whole island is one fucking plant" Kaos grumbles as he leaps over a charging plant zombie
"Would explain a lot actually, like why it just won't die" Azulong agrees, launching another volley of lighting bolts into the hoard
"Fighting me is pointless, for you are fighting the inevitable" Omatsuri cackles as more and more plant people seem to rise to replace the ones they manage to destroy
As the trio fight through the hoard, Lily wasn't quite as passive or inert as she appeared….
"Kaos!"
The purplette freezes, as a familiar voice echoes through his mind "Robin? Where, what's going on?"
"I'm here, right in front of you. You were looking for me, but I've been here this whole time"
Eyes widen as dread fills his core "Oh... oh shit"
"Yes my dear, I'm here, the Lily has taken me in, I shouldn't have fought, I died screaming for you but you arrived too late, 2nd time in a row" Her voice drifts from calm to frantic, and then ends on mocking as she speaks
"Robin, I…" Kaos begins but stops himself, unable to find the words, eyes misting over with tears
"Hush now my love it's ok, it's better now. I've become part of something greater, stop fighting, and let us be one again, now and forever"
"..."
§Don't you fucking dare kid, the orchid is playing you!§" hissed his familiar, causing Kaos to flinch and blink owlishly as he attempted to regain his bearings
"§Newbie has a point, search for those damn mirrors of yours, if what Robin's saying is true there would be bits of it somewhere on this damn island§" Hebi whispers through their bond
Kaos stops, letting things almost tune out, meanwhile Lily's vines start burrowing, and a few stray arrows pierce his body in his dazed state. He finds nothing, not a trace of Robin's mirror, not even shards, and his eyes snap open, locking onto Baron for half a second before zeroing in on Lily, blood leaking from silver/purple reptilian eyes
"You don't get to do that, you don't get to use those I care about to play with my mind. Zehahaha I'm going to enjoy this, you know that right? One monster to another?" He hisses, a wave of shadow and malice emanating from him "In fact, maybe the best way to deal with you is with Blood magic, can't go darker than that" he chuckles as he gathers blood from one of his many wounds and rubs it on his hands, magic gathering and sparking "Invert the tide of the Abyss, for a child lost in the dark: Kuroi musuko!" * he chants as an ominous-looking ball of flames forms in his hands, mostly purple with black edges, in total about a quarter of his size, which he then heaves toward the gathered minions, turning them to ash as the explosion buffets against the 4 of them
"Can I complain about Grima being his Magic teacher NOW?" Azulong mutters as the flames continue to spread, devouring any of the plant zombies that get too close
Kaos though, wasn't looking at the destruction he'd just caused, instead he puts Hebi away and almost calmly walked toward Omatsuri, bobbing and weaving as more and more arrows are shot at him
"Zesesese, I'm going to make you suffer, as she would have suffered, but I have this one to get rid of first" he wheezes, a demented grin crossing his features
"You won't lay a hand o…" Omatsuri begins but is cut off as Kaos rips his left arm off, reverting it into a plant stem as he drops it at his feet
"Are you done messing around Little girl, or do you have a few more puppets to show off to me?" Kaos asks, the drip drip drip the only answer, as Baron's head slumps like a broken doll
"How long? How long did you know?" Lily asks, her voice high-pitched and almost childlike, which just poked at more raw nerves
"Since I realized he wasn't the mastermind, from the moment you showed your hand and made things personal for YOU, I realized the Baron's been dead for a long time, your hoard of plant people filled in the blanks, he's your puppet, those wines make excellent strings don't ya think? Kishishishi. Now, let's deal with the infestation At The Root!" he cackles as he leaps at the Baron who dodges, a vine-like tendril bursting from the stump of his missing limb
"I WON'T DIE, NOT HERE, NOT TO THAT BITCH MEDUSA'S SEEDLING!" Lily screams as it contorts and expands, Omatsuri's head snapping back into place, his eyes shimmering like a kaleidoscope
"I am the Lily Carnation, God of this island, master of death itself, I won't be brought down by a mere child!" he declares in a dual-layered voice as arrows manifest and a vine bursts out of his neck with a Piranha plant like jaw on the end, the sinewy Special Paramecia dodging and weaving around the arrows and snapping jaws, though not completely unscathed "You can't avoid me forever boy, I will end you tonight!"
"In that case why don't we set the stage correctly, and shed some light on the subject" the purple-eyed pirate smirks as white energy flickers around his right arm, he thrusts upwards, the shockwave and sonic boom, besides breaking several bones, parted the clouds revealing the full moon and illuminating the clearing in a pale glow. It was then Lily and the others noticed Kaos was dripping, his wounds and hands weeping a silver liquid that flowed like water, puddles forming all around himself, Omatsuri and Lily
"This is the end, thank you for pushing me to this point that I was able to wake it up. I hear you, Lily, I see you, Lily, if I were to reach out and touch you it would all be over. Reflected Pathway Infinite Gates" Kaos speaks softly but the effect was instantly noticed, for one the puddles spread out and connect, then become flat and calm, with a mirror's sheen.
Next, tendrils of the material erupt from the pool, piercing Omatsuri and more importantly Lily's main body, the worm-like thing attempting to flail and free itself but the reflect matter held like steel chains. Lily makes one last attempt to at least take Medusa's child down with her as the plant maw lunges, but with reflection material still being released from his palms, Kaos caught the head and the material engulfed her. As the struggling finally ceased, the pool began to draw in the plant demon, only once the last of Lily was gone did the pool essentially collapse in on itself and be drawn back into an exhausted-looking Kaos, who smiles softly before passing out, nearly flattening Azulong who had zipped behind in order to try and catch him.
"He's a heavy bastard" she hisses
"Did you expect an 11ft guy to be light as a feather?" Henry chuckles but helps her to carry/drag the young man down the mountain
Back on the ship
"He's alive which is good, but that was definitely the most extreme I've seen those abilities" Azulong frets while Kaos lies slumped on the bed, Henry examining him as best he could
"A Devil fruit awakening at his age is incredible, I just hope he can handle the backlash. Though I suppose we'll know for sure when Zelena checks him over" the blood man muses, then tenses when he finds what looks like a tattoo of a withered tree across Kaos' right ribs "shit!"
"What… oh my, but that's not possible, is it?"
"You've seen it. Now he can hear you. You've touched it. Now he can see you. Never ring it. If you hear it, he can touch you. You said Grima is teaching him magic remember, an artifact like that would be something either she or Cipher would tell him about"
"But that's for demonic familiars!" Azulong shrieks "And usually ends in death for the summoner, it's how we ended up with the fucking thing!"
"And what pray tell would you call the Lily, if not a Demon or Devil? I don't know if what he's done is brilliant, or retarded, but it's impressive that he survived his little makeshift ritual art" Henry chuckles
The next day
"You awakened! That's awesome Papa!" Artemis cheers with starry eyes, appearing in a plate-sized, rippling disc of silvery material Kaos manifested from his body "Oh, did you see uncle Ace's new wanted poster, it's so much, but he's going to be so mad" the artist cackles
"It came with mine, so yes I saw it and it actually cheered me up a little after seeing my own. Ace is going to kill someone whenever he gets to see it himself, might even do it just to get a new moniker and bounty poster again" Kaos smirks as he unrolls the poster. The image was taken from Marineford, while he was still on the platform and prepared to accept his end, though it was the other changes that were a bigger issue for his brother

The technique is called Black Sun, but the child of the Abyss would be the Black Son which at least sounds the same in English even if it clearly isn't in Japanese.
